Global Warming to Cause Mass Rape

by W.F. Price on February 28, 2014

I suppose this is another take on the old “[something] happens, women hit hardest” headline that’s been around since women first learned to read, but it’s still always amazing to what extent publications continue to push credulity. In this case, Mother Jones is the offending party, which I suppose shouldn’t be too surprising. As far as left-wing publications go, it’s a far cry from Counterpunch.

From Mother Jones:

“Looking at the past, we see a strong relationship between temperature and crime,” says study author Matthew Ranson, an economist with the policy consulting firm Abt Associates. “We think that is likely to continue in the future.”

Just how much more crime can we expect? Using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s warming projections, Ranson calculated that from 2010 to 2099, climate change will “cause” an additional “22,000 murders, 180,000 cases of rape, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, 2.3 million simple assaults, 260,000 robberies, 1.3 million burglaries, 2.2 million cases of larceny, and 580,000 cases of vehicle theft” in the United States.

Ranson acknowledges that those results represent a relatively small jump in the overall level of crime—a 2.2 percent increase in murder and a 3.1 percent increase in rape, for instance. Still, says John Roman, a senior fellow at the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center, those numbers add up to “a lot of victims” over the course of the century.

The study’s results don’t mean that defendants should be able to argue that they were driven to a life of crime by the weather. “The decision to commit a crime is a matter of personal responsibility,” Ranson explained in an email. “Neither higher outdoor temperatures nor reduced police enforcement are valid excuses for individuals to commit criminal acts. Yet, from a statistical perspective, both cause crime to increase.”

To be fair, the study says all crime is likely to increase, but the Mother Jones headline explicitly singles out rape.

As for whether warm weather correlates with crime, I suppose it might, but then again we can compare Detroit to, say, Singapore, and obviously other factors are at work as well.

But will global warming bring about an unprecedented era of mass rape? If so, whatever are we going to do? I have an idea. Maybe people, including women, should stop taking trips to resorts, using electronic devices, driving, and having access to top-notch medical care and fast emergency responses. This would surely lower carbon emissions. It might lead to a shorter lifespan and lower quality of life, but hey, less rape, right?

You should remember that the people who complain the loudest about global warming are always the ones who are the LEAST willing to go back to living in caves, foraging for their own food, and using animal hides to clothe themselves. They actually get angry when you suggest reverting to a life like that of a caveman, but apparently they will still get angry if you make this suggestion by saying that by doing so, crime rates may fall. They basically get irritated because you are not suggesting that everyone go back to this lifestyle, only the ones making the biggest stink about global warming.

Miriam Weeks (an undergrad at Duke) has resorted to pornography to pay for her woman’s studies degree and would like to be a lawyer someday. She may not have done anything illegal, but judges will know about her past, as will the defense attorney (if she is representing a plaintiff), or the prosecution attorney (if she is representing the defendant). One can only imagine having the knowledge that your opponent did porn in college. Remember, Duke has a bad reputation with the treatment of the lacrosse players, so I’m sure they are not thrilled now.

In the Q and A, she actually has the nerve to suggest that she was forced to do porn because Duke wouldn’t provide her with enough financial aid. No, Duke doesn’t owe her anything.

Supposedly global warming has been happening for…how long now? Has crime been going up or down?

Crime has been going down because of zero-tolerance 3 strikes sentencing, (if more career criminals are in prison longer, less crime). And also abortion clinics strategically located in low income neighborhoods.

Natural climate fluctuation has been going on for millenia. There is zero evidence it’s caused by carbon emissions. Enviromentalism is the newest theology of the Left; subplanting New Age hokum.

I laughed when I saw this.

You know that somehow they’re going to find a way to blame the white man for this.

“If you deny global warming then you support mass rape!” or something like that.

People in tropical countries do have higher crime rates. But they continue to have higher rates even when they move north. Could race be the operative principle and not temperature? But let me play Devil’s Advocate: Southern Whites are known to be more violent than Northern. And writers like Conrad have detailed the deleterious effects the tropics have on Whites.

This is, however, an effective way to get Republicans to support all sorts of green taxes, like carbon taxes, etc.

Republicans will support any and all socialism, as long as it is packaged as ‘saving women’. Whether it be global warming, corporate tax reform, or anything else totally unrelated to gender, the GOP will jump to out-left the leftists if the lefty pet cause can be packaged in a way that pushes the typical conservative’s whiteknight buttons…

To be fair, the study says all crime is likely to increase, but the Mother Jones headline explicitly singles out rape.

Because rape is the only crime that women oppose (given that they write love letters to serial killers, etc).

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 17 Thumb down 6

It’ll correlate with ice cream sales, too, so buying ice cream enables rape, obviously. Can’t wait to get me some Ben & Jerry’s Rapey Raspberry sorbet.

Global warming?!?! Biggest load of shit I’ve ever heard. What about the medieval warm period, where grapes were grown in Newfoundland and England? Contrary to what the govt. media complex says 2013 was not one of the hottest years. They put the temp. thermometers in the city near tarmacks and not out in the country. The earth as a whole has not “warmed since 98 and is getting cooler. Remember 2013 according to Al Gorlioni was supposed to be ice free. I remember in the 70s that the earth was getting cooler. $$$$ Grab mothu fuyers.

It’s well established that hot weather often leads to an increase in crime. Maybe they think “liberal scientists” will be more motivated to speak out against contributing to climate change because of this?

MOTHER JONES is just looking for something offensive to masturbate over.

Nop, they have been writing letters to serial rapist as well. Ted Bundy was receiving a huge number of love letters and gifts by women while in prison. And that was in the 70s and the 80s when most women were a bit more sane.

The vast majority of women fantasise about rape, no matter what they say in public. The idea that a man is so attracted to her that he will endanger spending his life in prison to have sex with her is highly exciting for most women.

The fact that our society has criminalised dominant (i.e. normal) male behaviour has made women to turn to the only men who display the said behaviour, i.e. criminals.

In Greece, which back in the 1970s was still a very conservative society, the first case of a serial rapist was a special forces NCO, throughout his years in prison he received thousands of letters by women from all classes, backgrounds and ages who wrote their sexual fantasies to him, visited him in jail, showered him with gifts etc etc.

The press back then was shocked, well I guess conservatives have always thought that women are perfect little angels who hold the moral compass of society. Silly naive people…

@TFH-
Violent and Serial Rapists actually receive MORE proposals than serial killers.

Rape is fetish ‘titillation’. There are not many sources of feminine titillation left after normalizing abortion, public drunkenness, public indecency, and competition with males.
The only alternative titillation involves murdering or maiming your mate, child abuse, mass murder, and torture. This is very rare, however, so when any of these crimes occur the media pounces on this feminism-fetish for the empathic woman-porn it really is… Women hate themselves, and love the idea of vicariously indulging in victim-reality.

It has not stopped raining here since December – there is a sink-hole that has swallowed part of the road and as I can see goes under the pavement (and I thought that only Florida was prone to such extreme events). This is apparently the fault of global warming. Am I feeling raypee though?

With a an average number of rapes per year being 180,000 , adding 180,000 is a 100% increase, not a 3%.

“Just how much more crime can we expect?”

From a statistical perspective the more blacks & other non-whites, except for Asians, that you add to a population the more crime increases. The question that we whites need to ask is, how many more
blacks & other non-whites are we going to pour into our countries? How long before we put a stop to this genocide?

This reminds me of a monologue by George Carlin:

Now, speaking of rape, do you know what I wonder? I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole?
These are the kind of things I think about when I’m sitting home alone and the power goes out.
I wonder is there more rape at the equator or the north pole? I mean per capita, I know the populations are different.
Most people think it’s the equator, I think it’s the north pole.
People think it’s the equator because it’s hot down there, they don’t wear a lot of clothing, guys can see women’s tits, they get horny and there’s a lot of fucking going on.
That’s exactly why there’s less rape at the equator. Because there’s a lot of fucking going on.
You can tell there’s a lot of fucking at the equator, take a look at the population figures.
Billions of people live near the equator. How many Eskimos do we have?
Thirty? Thirty five? No one’s getting laid at the north pole, it’s too fucking cold.
Guys say to their wives, “hey tonight honey, huh, tonight, huh?”
“Are you crazy? The wind chill factor is three hundred below.”
These guys are deprived. They’re horny. They’re pent up. Every now and then… boom… they bust out, they got to rape somebody.

This is another backhanded attempt to paint the picture that there is a potential rapist within all men, just waiting to come out based on certain conditions. Why stop with warming? What about sunspot activity, full moons, or the barometric pressure?

The message is that ALL men are actual rapists or potential rapists – and therefore women need even MOAR protection and privileges.

When it no longer matters whether you’re a criminal or not and you’re automatically judged guilty, let’s just say the women alive at that point will be wishing for the “good old days”.

Do you know ANYONE living in a cave, clothed in nothing but animal hide? Probably not.

However I do know more than one person who has gone to sustainable organic farming, with naturally composting toilets, a meat-free diet, etc.

And those folk were without a doubt the ones who complained the loudest about global warming.

My suspicion is that you just need to widen your circle.
