Social thinker and occasional Spearhead commenter The Fifth Horseman (AKA The Futurist) predicted a few years ago that misandry would come to a head around the year 2020, after which “The Misandry Bubble” would pop.
TFH focused on sexual dynamics and the escalating oppression of men, which, although not the entire picture, is a very important factor in national and global affairs.
Now, academic Peter Turchin, a proponent of “cliodynamics,” is predicting the convergence of a number of trends around the same time, with possibly revolutionary implications.
Turchin has identified rising inequality as a destabilizing factor that could lead to social disruption and a chaotic environment, similar to the ominous years of the early 20th century when the US was threatened with violent revolution. I recall watching the film J. Edgar early last year, and although I was aware of how tense the atmosphere was in the 1920s, the movie was a good reminder that terrorism and social strife are nothing new in the US. According to Turchin, we are facing a repeat of that era if something isn’t done quickly about the stark economic inequality that has emerged since 1980.
Both TFH’s article and Turchin’s are long reads, but they both conclude that by 2020 the situation in the US will be profoundly different from what most of us were familiar with as children.

Three years ago I published a short article in the science journal Nature. I pointed out that several leading indicators of political instability look set to peak around 2020. In other words, we are rapidly approaching a historical cusp, at which the US will be particularly vulnerable to violent upheaval. This prediction is not a ‘prophecy’. I don’t believe that disaster is pre-ordained, no matter what we do. On the contrary, if we understand the causes, we have a chance to prevent it from happening.

In 1989 on a Usenet posting while discussing my first book, I predicted that in the years between 2010 (1965 + 45) and 2030 (1965 + 65) the wave of anti-male sentiment would be completed and the next wave of anti-female sentiment would have begun. My forecast was based on the synthesis of Reay Tannahill’s survey in her book, Sex In History, and the work of soviet economist Nikolai Kondratiev, and has been posted on my website for almost 20 years.
There are a lot of factors that feed into this, and I am inclined to agree that the misandry bubble will pop sometime around 2020.
BUT, neither my calculations nor what I have read from the sources cited above take into consideration countervailing forces that will mitigate in favor of misandry: global demographics, transformational technologies, and the goals and efforts of the global elite.
Second Wave Feminism got an early boost from the government, and it has never stopped. Both second and third wave feminism rely heavily on government for their persistence. But we are on the cusp of a global depression that will sap governments’ ability to support feminism. Both second and third wave feminism are also rife with sexist bigots, which has had the ironic affect of making MRM the only real feminists by definition. Public sentiment against the feminist bigots is growing. These all mitigate in favor of a decline in mainstream misandry sometime around 2020.
However, several transformational technologies could forestall the global depression, infusing governments with the resources needed to sustain feminist programs. Technologies such as cold fusion (Google LENR), vastly improved electrical energy storage, graphene applications, stem cell technologies, and so on.
Then there are the goals and efforts of the global elite. Feminism serves them. Destruction of the middle class, the criminalization of masculinity, which turns every (middle and lower class) man into a de facto suspect, serves them. Dismantling the Constitution piecemeal serves them. Dispatching armed drones in American skies serves them. Imposing strict censorship on the web serves them.
Demographically, the relative value of fecund females is set to go hyperbolic by 2020, when insane policies in Asia and the Subcontinent will manifest a shortage of women of child bearing age. In the past, when war has created a shortage of men, peace and prosperity were the result. What will happen when we have a shortage of women? Will we see a rise in female power, with matriarchies like the ones in Robert Heinlein’s classic, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress? Will we see rampant homosexuality and mandatory sexual servitude for women, as in J. Neil Schulmann’s The Rainbow Cadenza?
Which set of forces will prevail? In all likelihood, there will be no clear winner. And in the short run the power of the state will likely increase in response to the threats to social stability and an increase in civil strife. Given time and the liberty to do so, the markets will respond, people will adapt, life will find a way. But politics has a way of protecting the status quo, with unfortunate consequences.
My answer to that is for MRAs and MGTOW to get as rich as possible as fast as possible so we can become a force to reckon with the global elite and to, as Julie Borowski mentioned in one of her more recent videos about promoting libertarianism to women, creating movies, books, TV series, and so on that help to infuse the cultures with values, virtues, attitudes and ideas that are more reasonable and sane. But the time in which to do that is compressing. John Williams of Shadow Government Statistics says the dollar bubble could begin to pop this coming May, and he is forecasting hyperinflation by the end of 2014. The Weidemers think we have a few more years than that, and that inflation will not exceed 100% in any given year. Regardless, I have suspended all my stock purchases to focus solely on silver (and maybe a little gold), at least until this summer.
In his latest interview, John Williams said that when gold reaches $100,000/oz, don’t sell, don’t take profits, but wait, it will get worse, and when the worst is over there will be tremendous opportunities for those who hold fast. He might be right, but cold fusion and the other technologies–all of which I support and hope to see succeed–will have the unfortunate consequence of shoring up the status quo.
There is no guarantee that misandry will subside. Years ago in Not Guilty, talking about feminists PJ O’Rourke quippped, “They’ve got us surrounded, we have no choice but to drink our way out.” You could try that, but the best thing we can do, in my opinion, is to make preparations based on the old rule, “hope for the best but plan for the worst.” That will afford us the most flexibility and the highest chances of success, and it’s what I’m doing.
Be careful of putting dates on predictions. You could end up looking like those end of the world guys who seem to come along every few years.
Market forces and the invisible haemorrhoids of the market do a lot. Also, the overwhelming need that people have for peace order and good government has a way of mitigating the ‘let’s have a riot’ thinking that ends a lot of comedies.
Let me give an example. Africa is a series of interlocked strongman economies being used to strip mine the country for its mineral resources, thanks to cheap Warsaw Pact weapons and munitions. The region has had a generation wiped out from untreated AIDS. The region has been ripe for a upheaval for years and somehow it never seems to happen. Why? It doesn’t appear to be in anyone’s interest.
In the west with a stable court system, well funded law enforcement agencies, a capable civil service, many advanced centres of learning, if there’s a tax limit hit thanks to systemic changes (largely due to technology), then I think there will be people sitting down saying ‘We can afford this but not that, some of this and less of that…’ first rather than a grand mal seizure.
I mean, don’t you believe in yourselves?

How likely is it that the collapse of the EU and the USA will coincide? The politicians have been playing kick the can with the european debt issues so that should take probably 2 more years before anything major happens. As long as interest rates stay below 1%, because of our ability to pay (ie – keep raising taxes on our citizens), we’ll be loaned money. What happens when no one loans California money anymore? Their debt is over $400 Billion. Payment on the debt is almost $9 Billion per year, or over 10% of their annual budget. New York is in a similar postion and Illinois is not far behind. The very first to go will be public union pensions. Millions will go without retirement funds and healthcare. Next will be massive “furloughs” of govt workers. This will only add to the class of dependents that rely on EBT cards and other “entitlements”. Guess what they cut next?

I just returned from a trip across the country to visit with siblings and nieces and nephews and with friends and their children. It was very concerning to me and depressing what I saw. Among nieces, it was a combination of obesity, unladylike characteristics, ignorance, disrespect, instability and insanity. Probably the most universal characteristics though were an almost universal overestimation of their talents and their levels of wisdom and maturity. Knowitallitis. I could see exactly two becoming really good wives and mothers. One is very nice, and otherwise attractive, but needs to lose about fifty pounds. One is going to make a hopefully good man a happy man. It was very evident how important parenting skills have become in the world we live in today with all of the craziness out side of the home. I’m afraid some mothers can’t, and won’t teach their daughters anything about being a mother or wife, or homemaker or cook, but those are the ones that will teach them how to use birth control until the day they are prepared to lay the trap. The boys? I am not lying because I have gripes, I’m not lying because I’m writing at this site. I’m not lying period. Though there are definitely exceptions, the boys that are turning into young men are way beyond the girls. Almost zero obesity, zero knowitallitis, much more giving of respect and much more deserving of respect and much much more rational and mentally healthy. That is just the way it is.
So in 2020, men will finally learn to wear the pants eh.

I’ve been in and out of these men’s groups for about 3 years, and if the recent forward movement of what I see here is ANY indication of the general male population , I believe you may very well see some meaningful improvement well before 2020.
Of course, it all depends on how many men are aware of the problem, and how much they are willing to do about it. The next mid-term election is a critical point and the 2016 presidential election will be the most critical point in recent American history. If we get a female feminist in the White House I can’t see much bursting in the next decade, save for the bubble of hope for male freedom. I see a lot of men now realizing this.
From what I see here, you seem more than ready, willing and able to work on the problem in a serious way. If I can give a younger man some advice, I would tell him to work hard, try not to get too discouraged when faced with set-backs and I believe there will be many happy years while he is still youthful.
I havn’t read much about the bursting theory, but I’ve been convinced for a long time, that any change will be gradual. Women are survivalists and if the most powerful person in the world is a female feminist, she will enlist the best experts the world has to offer to perpetuate her agenda in spite of the self destructive nature of so many women.

USA population growth has come soley from immigration within the last 20 years, as the birth rate is flatlining. 90% of this immigration has come from south of the border, mostly Mexico. These are millions of people with limited skills that are raising children with little interest in higher education. The high school graduation rate among Hispanics is similar to blacks in urban centers – which is less than 50%, even though they tend to be the “majority minority” in many areas such as southern California.
My friend’s daughter is a teacher and Hispanic parents ask her “Why do you make us send our children to your school?”. They don’t even understand why we’d have laws requiring children be educated, let alone the importance of it for their future prospects of rising out of poverty. It doesn’t help that the children rarely speak english and must be taught in the 1st and 2nd grades, forever falling behind until they lose interest and quit as teenagers…join gangs, end up in prison.

The best thing about The Fifth Horseman’s article is that it makes several predictions about how events are going to unfold. It’s not just a pointless collection of academic observations that assign blame for random ills (that’s the structure of typical “blame the patriarchy” rubbish). So, in essence, it’s falsifiable based on whether the predictions come to pass or not.
And so far, it’s been quite accurate.
The thing I’m most interested in is the current arms race between us and the government. The number of armed citizens is very high and I also think death by government will be coming in the 2014 2015 time frame. After the midterms. When the govrnment starts dropping people due to lack of money and also based on voting demographics. The black community voyes democrat no matter what and is easily duped into believing what ever story put out as the republicans fault due to racism. (works everytime) So the benefits will get cut. Women will get cut off because they will always vote democratic. Also fewer and fewer productive men will marry them.
Also speaking of technology let’s say a male birth control pills comes out before cold fusion or some other extender of government wealth. What happens when even a coward to stand up to the femine imperative knows this misandry is unsustainable and figures out a male pill will maybe cause a correction while he still can be a coward. A woman without child is a worker drone and not eligible for entitlements.The US may look like China with low wage factories full of female workers with male mechanics/technicians keeping the machines running.
What is really funny and would be interesting to check out. There are also a lot of expensive government inititatives that finish in 2020, such as carbon reduction targets that were mapped out with this end date in mind becuase it was thought at that point social destruction would be imminent. There’s also The Singularity to consider. Whether or not you belive such a thing is likely, a great many technologists are firm believers in The Singularity and have been working with this untimate date of convergence in mind. Even if nothing perceptible changes, cultural thought will most certainly change. I’d prefer to look at 2020 as the year mankind enters the next great stage in its evolution – a release from the tyranny of the body. Feminism is pushing women into the drudgery of earthly existence at the same time as releasing men from it. Men hold freedom of volition as their most cherished posession so new worlds are being designed, developed and constructed away from petty earthly tyrannies. It stands to reason that sooner or later we will all enjoy the fruits of their labours and leave feminism and the women that fail to love men as God intends in the rapidly diminishing carcass that gives them sustenance.
I actually have great hopes for the future of men. 2020 sounds very promising to me. Bring it on.

Agree. The same is the case in the frauenreich of Canada. Essentially, the preferred immigrant groups are the women of the ethnicities. Theya re the minus and not the plus. The men of the ethnicies are turned away as women make society in their own image as measured by everything.

Looking at the big picture, as the parts are preferred over the whole, each brick of the flying-apart house is an island of Monoculturalism as it stands for itself against the whole. Respectfully, I must disagree. In doing the massive and ongoing research (and that includes daily observation of the consumption, irresponsiblity and anti-societyism of women’s rule in the women’s government schools, air force…), I see the childish antisocial/antimale rule of women ever increasing.
Feminism is core to any society’s collapse. The prophet Isaiah mentioned the curse of being ruled by women and childen (children rule because matriarchy — women in charge–do nothing but enforce anarchy because they lack the moral intelligence as to how to discipline/mature children). See Isaiah 3.

1) The HBO series “Girls” is a major step forward in the popping of the misandry bubble. It is really worth watching. It’s a totally new take on relationships between men and women — and men are given a lot more respect. That Lena Dunham, commie though she may be, has created a good series. FAR more edifying than Sex in the City.
2) I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for a dollar collapse or economic collapse or runaway debt. I’m an economist. The current policy is actually fine. This is what you’re SUPPOSED to do in a deflationary contraction. Print it until you make it, so to speak. When the economy gets rolling the printing will be reeled back. If there were a problem with excess money creation long-term bond yields would not be 2%.

Cooking, cleaning, caring and catering aren’t vocations to be sniffed at or have noses turned up at.
If men are achieving 5 star rankings and industry recognition in these professional areas, why should women not compete in them too ?
Its no use women wasting time and treasure doing Micky-Mouse educational courses only to then grumble at Court for being passed over for employment and promotion.

i take cues from the orthojews and muslims in my dealings with the darlings — no shaking of hands, minimize eye contact and stand about five feet away from them if not more. seems to drive them batty .

The USSof A has major voting fraud. Remember Obuma recieving thousands of votes, but Romney not even 1?!?! Yet when a small district in Texas that had 150 voters and not one voted for Obuma CCCN sent a crew down there. This district doesn’t like anything liberal, socialist etc.

On occasion I remind them that I believe in “equality”. Once I spin around that word and add logic they are at a loss. Often, they try to divert the initial argument or point. I keep them on it.

Really? I seem to find that every time war has created a shortage of adult men, social dysfunction and rent-seeking behavior is the result. Murder goes up, suicide goes up, drug and alcohol dependence goes up, sexually-transmitted diseases go up, teenage pregnancy goes up,etc.
Maybe we have different definitions of “peace and prosperity”.
