I’m sure a lot of readers remember the “black helicopter” talk of the 90s. Lots of urban folks laughed about the paranoid people out in the boondocks, but there really were black helicopters flying around for various reasons. Some were likely on DEA operations, and others were involved in military training exercises. I saw one of these helicopters once while driving on a back road in Skagit county, WA around 2000. It was swooping down low and there was a door gunner hanging out with his machine gun pointed menacingly toward the ground — I assume it was a training exercise from one of our many local bases. Makes you feel pretty small to be in a little car on a dirt road with those big blackhawks flying overhead.
Since then, the hype over the helicopters has died down somewhat, but a recent exercise in Miami suggests they are back. Local Miami police and some military folks staged a joint exercise with black helicopters flying low through downtown, which is weird enough, but in this case they actually opened fire with what sounded like a autocannon, perhaps a chain gun of some sort. Unless they were shooting the Transformers sequel (it is supposedly being filmed in Miami), I can’t really imagine what purpose this served. Well, maybe they are getting ready to implement some gun seizure, who knows…

I suppose this isn’t directly relevant to feminism, but there is a connection. Thanks in part to women’s total faith in big daddy government, our “authorities” are starting to behave with breathtaking arrogance. Flying military helicopters through heavily populated areas and letting loose with automatic weapons – blanks or not – is a slap in the face to citizens, and can only be interpreted as an act of intimidation at best.

In the last year the US government has also made massive ammo purchases through the Dept. of Homeland Security, totalling approx. 1.4 BILLION rounds of .223, .357, .40, and .308.
Also, some of these military “training exercises” are focused on disarming American civilians and clashing with protestors. Perhaps there will be mass unrest if the bankers kill the dollar?
My guess is they will stage an Oklahoma City bombing type terror attack and blame …..American patriots.

I’ll bet one of my kidneys against a jelly donut: At the first military-backed confiscation of firearms, Civil War II breaks out so fast that its own shadow can’t keep up with it. There will be pandemonium from coast to coast so harsh it will make the LA riots look like the Jerry Springer show.
I lived in the Santa Cruz Mountians in the 90′s and black helicopters flew low and hovered around every few weeks, supposedly with infrared capability looking for marijuana crops. One time they stopped above my house for about a minute and I thought they were going to disembark…loud.
Choppers can be used for visual/audio intimidation, but the real threat is in drones that let some guy in a New Mexico military facility see you pick your nose at 29,000 feet. And they can laser guide a small missle to your head. An assault rifle will be of no use. Drones are already being used along the borders right here, so they’re not just a foreign used “asset”. (Wait until our enemies have their own drones.)

I have been seeing this for a few months now; coupled with the Amry manual training people for “white tea Partiers” taking down a town in NC (imaginary training exercise); I suspect the government is just conditioning us.
For example, I have read about the troop convoys “training” through several states. Besides being a waste of gas; I think it serves a secondary role in conditioning the populace to be comfortable with the military in their presence.
I say hell no to all of it. The movie makers can use sets in out of the way areas; and the military can stay training to their larger bases. I only want to be scared when military vehicles show up to my door; not walking up to my door to ask how they want to rape my wife and send my kids off in a draft before they use my house for staging grounds against my neighbors! Period.
Hmm, so I get the need for Military exercises in urban scenarios. But why involve the police beyond setting up some road blocks on the edges of the AO? Our local police certainly will not be used in foreign Urban military actions…
Listened to Nassim Taleb this weekend, big government (in addition to being connected to feminism) is all about making war, and, they’re not very good at it. Its becoming apparent to me that the government is increasingly hostile to anyone that wants some kind of independence akin to what we had before. Something has to give. Performance is irrelevant, Stalin killed off so much of his army that when the Germans attacked, his military crumbled…you see for him having a loyal army was all that mattered. So, lets look closely here – women and gays given more “opportunity” in the military? Both demographics voted overwhelming for barry and both have and will continue to vote for big government. Will they make good soldiers, no, but they’ll shoot at civilians, that much I am sure of.

You have to remember that the whole demonetization of the ‘black helicopter’ crowd began back in the ’90′s. That was before we all learned of Blackwater and the other covert merc’s that were being breed in this country at the time. Now things like Xe (formerly Blackwater) and Three Canopy live openly and nobody cares. They are both merc’s and constitutionally prohibited, but I repeat myself – nobody cares. That is old news, now it is the ‘drones’ we need to worry about . . .

There is curently an arms race with american civilians buying every round of ammunition and ar-15 in sight. It looks weird walking into a gun store and seeing the shelves empty except for some odd 7.5 x 55mm swiss or 7mm -08. Cabelos here in Fort Worth was wiped out, gun cases and the racks behind the counter are empty. with almost all common ammunition including 22lr gone.
The american public seems to know with out being told that the government is up to something. I truely believe this push for women and gays in the military is to get the ranks invested in the government. So they will fire on and kill american civilians. The recent ruling that allows women in the front lines of the military probably has been brought out because a drug has been developed that keeps women in PMS for as long as the government wants them to be. There were drills / training / practices / rehersals like this in the 1990′s as well. Some were in Detroit, if I remember right. At first there was denial, then when people were able to find empty cartridge cases, etc. grudging admission. It was all “anti terrorism” drill. Nothing to do with any attempt by the Clintons to intimidate people, oh, no.

My reaction to the video is how irresponsible that kind of flying is. Low altitude at night over a highly congested area. Miami is not Baghdad. I wonder if the FAA is now compelled to rubberstamp the waivers for this kind of exercise, as I doubt they are very enthusiastic about signing them off.

It is encouraging to hear of citizens buying up lots of ammunition and guns. I’m 100 miles from the border in Canada, where we are pretty thoroughly disarmed, so it should be interesting to watch from here. Curious enough; a TV report stated that an Army Major would not say what the exercise was about. I also saw 4 guys hanging from the sides of an MOH-06.
Far as I know only one unit works this way: SFOD-D.
Typically a door gunner for a blackhawk helicopter, at least in the army uses an M60E, or a M240, a light weight machine gun. However, they can also mount 5.56MM miniguns, and at one time (in the 90′s) the army was experimenting with the GAU-19, a three barrel fifty calibre machine gun.
Having spent some time on an aviation range, I can tell you that a minigun has a very distinctive sound, like the air is being ripped apart, and the ‘hit profile’ looks more like an explosive impact than a nice stictch of bullets.
Supposedly the only unit in the army that paints their helicopters black is the 160th SOAR (a), the Nightstalkers, but the deep olive drab used by regular Aviation units is very dark and might be mistaken for black from the ground.
I can also say that at least a large portion of helicopter overflights in Washington state are probably looking for Pot growers, as part of the cooperative counter-drug task force, which I believe is mostly National Guard (Due to Posse Comitas) working with local police, sheriffs and federal agencies.
Other than that, I got nothin’.
“Black Helicopters” . . . They’re UH-60s. Calling them “black” does nothing more than imply something sinister. A bit strange for the military to do a blank-fire drill in a populated urban center, but not unheard of. If co-ordinations were made with the police, then it poses no threat to public safety.
An M240B sounds convincing as shit to a civilian even firing blanks. It takes a lot of powder to cycle that mechanism. If you’re lying right next to it, it’s deafening.
I’m sure it looks sinister as Hell to civilians. It’s really no big deal.
