How did Feminism Grow so Powerful?

Wednesday’s post about how people (and women in particular) are wasting time, often while pursuing futile goals, has brought up some discussion of the origins of feminism in recent comments. There’s something very cult-like about the way feminism has emerged as a mass movement, and this characteristic has given rise to a lot of speculation about who was responsible for really getting it off the ground. Some have suggested Communists and the Frankfurt School, and others Victorian politics. There are a lot of theories, but what’s undeniable is that it burst onto the world scene in a big way in the mid-20th century.

Before this, I suspect there had always been various proto-feminist movements of one sort or another. From fertility cults in the ancient world, which survive today in Asia and perhaps parts of Africa, to the proliferation of witchcraft in late medieval Europe and then the political feminism that emerged in early 19th century Britain in response to the French Revolution’s ideals of equality.

I think feminism in one form or another has always been with us, and has always been part of the human experience. Even male feminists have always existed. There have been certain men from time immemorial who, despising their fellow men, maintain a worshipful attitude toward the feminine. But it has never been much more than a nuisance, or perhaps at worst an underground criminal industry, as in the abortionists that were prosecuted in Europe following the population depletion that accompanied the plague.

One rather remarkable passage from Alonso de Salazar Frías, a Spanish inquisitor who recommended that witches not be executed because they were not actually doing much, but rather simply delusional, highlights some of the similarities between modern feminist wishful thinking and the claims of witches, which were fantastic accounts of being able to do pretty much anything:

The real question is: are we to believe that witchcraft occurred in a given situation simply because of what the witches claim? No: it is clear that the witches are not to be believed, and the judges should not pass sentence on anyone, unless the case can be proven with external and objective evidence sufficient to convince everyone who hears it. And who can accept the following: that a person can frequently fly through the air and travel a hundred leagues in an hour; that a woman can get through a space not big enough for a fly; that a person can make himself invisible; that he can be in a river or the open sea and not get wet; or that he can be in bed at the sabbath at the same time… and that a witch can turn herself into any shape she fancies, be it housefly or raven? Indeed, these claims go beyond all human reason and may even pass the limits permitted by the Devil.

So what is it that turned feminism from a mere annoyance into a widespread, powerful cult that is supported by none other than the President of the United States and other leaders throughout the West?

I suspect the answer has something to do with mass communication and mob psychology. In the past, feminism or other odd, associated cults would emerge in some region, but would remain contained therein. Because it isn’t a proper religion that moves men to fight and sacrifice themselves, it was never in any danger of sweeping into power on a broad scale. It seems to me to be no coincidence at all that the rise of feminism coincided with television, mass-marketing and consumerism, because when the quirks of female psychology could be manipulated and fostered for profit or power on a widespread scale, it suddenly became a force in its own right.

There’s a great documentary – actually, the best I’ve ever seen – that documents the rise of mass psychology and the various methods people use to manipulate it for power and or profit. I’m sure a number of readers have seen it, but it’s worth mentioning “The Century of the Self” again, because it goes into great detail about the communication and psychological trends that have shaped contemporary society. Evidently, Freud was a real pioneer in this area, although he himself didn’t put his ideas into practice; his nephew did.

We men allowed it … by promoting it, advocating for it and enforcing it against each other ourselves.

Other men elsewhere, believing in each others dignity and each others freedom and personal rights to live honourably, have not done the same nor allowed the same to befall themselves.

I believe that it will just keep cycling around and around at a rate linked to general economic cycles, lagging economic growth by a decade or two, then dropping like a rock when the SHTF, which it WILL do, in a saw-tooth fashion, forever. Feminism is dependent on Big Daddy government being the surrogate provider/protector. The current governmental gravy train is running out of steam and I’m already seeing serious squabbling amongst various entitlement groups over the decreasing pie they’re used to sharing.

Prosperity certainly helped, and cloaking it in “compassion” for the poor, helpless, abandoned single mothers. (And the children!) Most people thoughtlessly support feminism because they honestly believe they’re supporting true equality. Equality is good, right? It never occurs to them to question the subtle teachings of the BoobTube.

I am so longer so sure that feminism is all that powerful anymore.
Few women I know advocate feminism. In fact, many of them seem to turn away from it.

It may all depend on where you live, though. In some countries, like the Anglo speaking countries, feminism is still striving. I believe that the genral trend leans toward a divorce from feminism.

According to me, feminism has known better days: women no longer feel the need for it, it seems.

The new generation of women is shying away. I have had women tell me that feminism has ruined their lives and those women are from the generation that burned their bras.

Like all fads, feminism will fade away. But the results will last for a long time. On the other hand, I believe that masculism is making great strides and that men, in general are beginning to make the same claim that women did half a century ago: they feel oppressed: their voices are rising to the point of being deafening.

Masculism will be the next fad. There is a huge backlash going on and women notice it. Feminism has changed society deeper than any other movement in the past. Masculism will have the same effect.

Just take a hard look at the so-called “herbivores” in Japan and the MGTOW movement. We are now in the middle of a huge backlash.

Further societal changes on the horizon. We will eventually reach equality. Feminism is lying on its death bed.

This is my humble opinion.

I believe it is the Hindu teachings that state the three most dangerous traits leading to destructive human behavior are lust, greed, and anger. Feminists exude all three in abundance.

I think feminism has experienced the perfect storm that supported its growth. Who was responsible for getting it off the ground? Define ‘ground’. The Suffragettes and socialism might be said to have laid the foundation. Even earlier political/religious/philosophical influences by more moderate traditionalists whose well-meaning calls were to treat women with more human social and political equality. Ultimately, their ideals were used, twisted, stretched, etc by the feminists. Government, business, and the cultural institutions also supported the explosion of feminism.

For most of human existence, 60% of men (betas) and 20% of women (feminists) never reproduced. That was the norm because of hypergamy and polyamory, until it was replaced with civilization and marriage.

While civilization benefits most people, that 20% can be said to have lost something too. In pre-civilized era, such women, instead of being kicked out of society like most men, were an important and high status part of the community, involved with the raising of the children, for example. Today the modern versions of these women focus on regaining that superior status in the communication by every means necessary: pandering to alpha males, scaring the rest of women, and lying to beta males.

Listening to the rhetoric of feminists, you can easily spot the feminist pandering to women and alphas, as well as the scaring of women, but this could not also have happened without the support of the betas as well. Here are some of the past lies that got betas to support feminism.

A simple lie “mothers are more important than fathers,” got men to abandon primary father custody. The objection that giving mothers custody is wrong because stepfathers commonly abuse kids was dealt with by previous propaganda about “evil stepmothers.”

The lie “women are naturally chaste” caused men to collectively forget about hypergamy, give women the right to vote, and liberalize divorce laws, creating confiscatory alimony.

The lie “sluts are more fun and have more sex than uptight prigs” (this is a lie because women have as much sex as their sex drive demands,) got men to support easy access divorce.

Finally, an appeal at the time to racism that “welfare recipients ought to pay back what society gives to them,” that argument provided the genesis of what became today’s child support disaster.

Let me take poiuyt’s analysis one step further: the ORIGIN of feminism may have been among disgruntled (for whatever reason) women, but its growth and staying power would not have been possible without the support of alpha males in positions of power.

As readers of this and other Manosphere blogs are keenly aware, the distribution of pussy in the western world has become extremely skewed, with fewer and fewer men getting more and more sex. When marriage was taken seriously and a great stigma placed upon deviants from its participation (especially women), most men had a shot at a family life and a chance to breed.

And while the alphas of bygone years damn well had to stick with one wife (or at least cover up their indiscretions carefully), today they have access to large numbers of self-sufficient women who can either pay for their own abortions or bring their bastard children up by themselves (or more likely with the help of the beta males they’ve scorned through taxes paid by the latter) and be exalted for it, while a much larger number of beta males resign themselves to self-stimulation to porn videos.

More ominously, those same beta males are not only being squeezed out of the job market, and thereby find it that much harder even to take care of themselves, but they can literally be imprisoned for looking at the wrong woman the wrong way.

It truly astonishes me that the S hasn’t hit the F already.

I am often reminded of an article I read shortly after 911. A female author wrote about how “men are back” to be the protectors and heros of society in the face of danger. How convenient. The towers fall, our security os threatened, and now all of a sudden women need men to protect them? Where was the National Organization of Women when there were female bodies being burned up by jet fuel? No, when the shit hits the fan, cut the man-bashing and yell Horay for the brave firemen, cops, et al.
And you know what the hell of it is? Dispite all the manosphere talk about “hell no, women will just have to protect themselves when civilization collapses”, there will be no such abandonment. I doubt very seriously that enough men will refuse to be protectors for it to make much of a difference. Sure, speaking for myself, I’ll refuse to play the hero, as will many MRAs and MGTOWs. But you can’t undo 2 million years of evolution, and the old social conditioning will reassert itself.

I was asking myself exactly this earlier today, no bs.

I agree that feminism has been with us for a while, in some form or another. However, I think feminism’s most recent rise in expansiveness is due to that, in part, folks didnt believe it would have any impact (You know- let the hens cluck, what can come of it??). But cluck they did, indoctrinating the primary schools, universities, and msm under the guise of “equal rights”, “politically correct”, and other misleading nomenclatures, successfully planting the seed into the minds of the youth until they had their slippery fingers in everything.

Now that folks are waking up, hopefully it isnt too late, hopefully the populace hasnt been so deeply indoctrinated that all is lost.

Feminism grew powerful in the late 60s early 70s because they jumped on the civil rights bandwagon and became an “oppressed minority “.
Many men supported it because of the antiwar movement, which is ironic because in some respects the antiwar movement was an early but unrecognized version of a men’s movement in that it challenged the idea of the White Knight who “defends the Kingdom.”
“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”, but this time we did “get fooled again” .

I’m not an expert on his matter.
My experience: I was 16 when abortion was legalized in 1973. I didn’t know any adult women, or girls in high school, who were happy about it. The women, and the girls , all seemed dazed and confused by it.
Some of the older adult women cried when abortion was legalized. My mother did. Others, as well.
I grew up in a working-class, middle-class suburb of NYC, mix of Catholics and Protestant Christians for the most part. That was the milieu. That was my little world.
To be brutally honest, the only ones who were celebrating abortion in this milieu, in this world I knew, were men. Men were celebrating abortion in 1973, not women. At least in the world I grew up in.
Alot of t adult men I knew gave me the elbow nudge to the ribs and a blink of the eye. I was “lucky” because I was “off the hook “and I could fuck all I want without the possibility of a shotgun wedding. They didn’t have that “luxury”. They were envious.
That was the thinking of the overwhelming number of adult men, and fellow boys in high school that I knew.
If there were any men around who didn’t like the legalization of abortion, they were real quiet about it.
From my personal experience, I have come to the conclusion that abortion is at the crux of female craziness today.
To speak in general, the women I knew were dazed and confused when abortion was legalized, then soon after, women went off the deep end. I think they went off the deep end in the pain and confusion that the legalization of abortion caused in their hearts and in their minds, deeply affecting the feminine spirit, so to speak. I think that’s the crux of the matter.
Just a theory. Just from my own experience.

Feminine-ism has been around since the beginning. It is the feminine that truly rules the world. All males serve the needs of the female, everywhere in nature. Humans, at some point or another, decided to stop living like animals and thus we are mandated to honour our parents, not to kill, steal, covet, commit adultery etc. etc. (those are all things animals do, which humans try not to do) – The “universal moral code,” found in more religions than just Christianity, is basically a moral code which tells us NOT to live like animals, but to “rise above them.” Part of this is putting the male’s truth before female truth – even though the underlying parts of the hierarchy are often different than the surface appearance (ie. Patriarchy still served women – more so than men), it is a desperate attempt to stop living like animals and move to something “higher.”

There are many factors involved – I don’t think one can truly get a complete grasp on it. That series mentioned, “The Century of the Self,” is excellent and explains part of the problem. But there are many more factors. Certainly the Victorian Era imposed wild sexually repressive memes into society that made us scared of sex and unknowledgeable about it – but this too had much to do with the rise of the Industrial Revolution and getting people off the farm and into the city. It’s pretty hard to grow up on a farm and not know the basics of the birds and the bees and the cycle of life – city people are somewhat removed from these realities.

Also, the Industrial Revolution removed fathers from the home during the day, sending them to workplace rather than having him plowing the fields and being an active part of the household. The Industrial Revolution changed homes from being places of “Production” to places of “Consumption.” (F. Roger Devlin’s series “Home Economics” is excellent in describing this, btw). With fathers gone as an influence during the day, the feminine of mother rose in prominence in human development… also, boys (& girls) were put to work much earlier in life in the past – 12 and 13 year old boys were pitching hay in the field with dad and the girls were churning butter with mom – they were still young, and still learning, but in different ways than today. The concept of adolescence is rather a new one – we have extended childhood far beyond what it used to be – well into our twenties with university.

Socialism is definitely a large part of it – even the Suffragette movement was heavily socialist in nature and support. Universal Suffrage (not just female suffrage) was an extremely bad move – the truth is, most people really are too stupid to govern properly and know all the issues. Setting up “the rules” as in a a republic, is far more superior… you can be stupid and still know how to live within “the rules.”

As for Marxism – this is definitely a part of what is going on. Whether one wants to say it is the ill-ooh-meh-naughty, the Rock Fellas, Roth’s child, Zionism, left over subversion from the Cold war (a provable fact) or Corporatism (Communism and Monopoly Capitalism are virtually the same thing – think of Lada and its competition) – whoever it is, or if it is a combination of such things, one thing is certain – there are definite Marxist methods at play here. Most of the rad-fems of the 70′s weren’t stupid – they knew what the hell they were talking about. They took the absolute truths known to man beforehand (men’s and women’s polarity), censored it from existence – but also used it to socially manipulate society. (You can’t stir the pot of relative truth without having your feet firmly planted on the ground of absolute truth).

For example, see this piece from the Great Walrus herself:

If you go through the Marxists.org site, you can find writings in there from feminists like Shulamuth Firestone and other radicals, and they fully knew how to manipulate the dialectical, and even wrote about it.

Roxanne Dunbar and Kate Millet both wrote about how the expansion of the state and the rise of welfare would destroy the family – It wasn’t completely accidental, and they were not misguided – they knew what they were doing.

“How will the family unit be destroyed? … the demand alone will throw the whole ideology of the family into question, so that women can begin establishing a community of work with each other and we can fight collectively. Women will feel freer to leave their husbands and become economically independent, either through a job or welfare.” — From Female Liberation by Roxanne Dunbar

I can’t find the exact quote at the moment, but I recall Millet calling for a vast, rambling welfare system, which would destroy the family and thus liberate women. (ie. They knew the Moynihan Report stuff was the truth – it destroyed families).

The techniques are definitely Marxist which have been used to “socially engineer” us as a mass population.

But feminism is only one spoke of the wheel. The entire world is rushing towards socialism and towards global government… and keep in mind, the United Nations’ Constitution mimics that of the old Soviet Union, NOT that of the United States. (ie. It is totalitarian, in that your rights are granted to you by the State, and are not naturally endowed upon you by the Creator – What God gives, only God can take away. What the State gives, the State can take away).

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men…” — United States Declaration of Independence

versus

“The States Parties to the present Covenant recognize that, in the enjoyment of those rights PROVIDED BY THE STATE … the State may subject such rights only to such limitations as are determined by law.” — Article Four of the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

(Yikes! Let’s stop doing business with the UN!)

All of those who want such things as totalitarian dictatorship, always want to lead with “the female principle” because the female principle is lead by Relative Truth – it changes as fast as a woman’s mind. It’s a totalitarian’s wet dream to be able to change the truth to be whatever he wishes it to be, rather than be tied down by pesky Absolute Truths like Bibles and the US Constitution.

It’s got a lot of factors involved.

The one thing people have to keep in mind about Marxism though, is it is more of a technique or a system used to bring about totalitarianism – it is not a particular political party. Hitler used Marxist techniques to bring totalitarianism to Germany… all the while chasing the Communists from the country.

The techniques are definitely happening… and the framework for the totalitarian global state keeps growing. Feminism is only one spoke of it – but it is a fundamental spoke, because of its relativity – without it, many of the other things couldn’t be destroyed or changed.

Nikita Kruschev was asked if the US would ever accept Communism, he said not by force but if you give them small doses of socialism, they will one day wake up Communist. I paraphrased what he said but the meaning is correct. Feminism, Obama, Neocons,liberalism ,New World order, etc. are the offshoots.

Looking back on this period feminism will be seen as an aberration that could only exist in this short window between the deindustrialisation and final extinction of the West, since only in this bubble can the pretence of female emancipation be sustained. Cultural Marxism hasn’t helped.

The second wave of feminism, starting in the sixties, was sponsored by powerful people who wanted to move the power structure away from the fathers (the old enemy according to feminists, ‘the patriarchy’) onto the state. Do not be deluded, the second wave was not a spontaneous uprising. The first wave of feminism at the end of the 18th century created the cause for the moving of the power structure as it found its roots in the Industrial Revolution, which moved production away from the house/farm into the factories, first of all through mechanizing women’s homework (clothes et al). Then came compulsory public schooling and thwse days the family’s house is a just a hotel and entertainment center. Feminism in one form or another has been around since time began.

Yet only the combination of European/Temperate growth and seasonal cycles combined with cheap energy (Oil) and Democracy can create an environment where it has a chance to actually grow. Remove or lessen any of those conditions and Feminism will die fast.

The European culture formed by the need for a strong male/female cooperation lifestyle due to seasonal food production opened the door. Following up with Democracy left the men of the European culture unprepared for the true nature of what women are capable of especially in a leisure culture. Cooperation between the sexes was mandatory before so giving women the vote was not viewed as dangerous or counter to the what was best for the culture. Finally add a little cheap energy to the mix and you have changed a culture based on cooperation into a leisure culture able to support many on the backs of a few.

It was already too late by the time cheap energy made it’s appearance and Democracy was already established from the much safer representative Republic. From that point on women will vote to improve their circumstances from a purely selfish agenda regardless of what they openly profess. They (Women) more than anything else want OPTIONS and they will always vote to give themselves more and then have a self satisfaction if they don’t take one or more of them.

It is an un-natural environment and runs counter to population growth or financial security so eventually one or more of the conditions needed for feminism to survive will be removed.

It’s just a matter of time and survival until that time.

Lawyers realized it could make them rich.
At some point, probably in the late 1800s they felt sorry for divorced females and gave them more. After some time they realized that the divorce rate had increased. This brought about the basic racket of rewarding females for divorce so they’d do it more often and thus further enrich lawyers.
Since legislatures are largely lawyers and judges are lawyers using females as an express to wealth and power began. An underlying condition, of course, is chivalry, without which that couldn’t have started.
Since then females have been used by lawyers for money and politicians for power. Feminism as understood now is the creation of government — which is largely awyers — and a means of social manipulation through manipulating females through their poorly developed morality and generally lesser intelligence.

What made feminism so powerful was a combination of two social factors: Anglo-Puritanism, which broke the gender polarity inherent in Christian thought and substituted a pedestalization of mortal women; and organized Marxism which used it as a tool to undermine the political and social structure. This is why feminism is so strong in cultures like the Anglosphere and Scandanavia where both underlying social conditions gave it its impetus. Feminism doesn’t appear as radical as it is when it has social points of conscious on which to draw. Trying to impose it over say, an Islamic culture would be nearly impossible because its very tenets are alien to Arabic culture.

The rapid rise of feminism by now should not be a mystery. As someone here said earlier, the Marxist techniques for destabilizing a society are in play here. Feminism was just another useful tool for the Marxists and anti-Western culture folks to use to destroy Western culture. For example, the Soviets wanted very badly to destroy the US and the UK, along with the rest of the English-speaking world, because those countries (the USA in particular) were the only real bastions against worldwide communism. The Soviets knew they couldn’t defeat the US-UK alliance militarily, so they set about subversion. The key to subverting a culture in order to destabilize and eventually destroy it is to destroy the foundations of that culture: the family unit first and foremost, the people’s faith and respect for their own culture (the Anglosphere has been HAMMERED with accusations of racism, sexism, oppression, etc etc). Feminism was a useful tool in this regard for accomplishing both of those goals.

To spread feminism and other ridiculous ideologies within a generation or two, the communists knew they had to get to the children, just as Hitler did – indoctrinate them and wait for their parents and grandparents to die. To accomplish this, they merely had to control the institutions of greatest influence on children: the public schools and the entertainment industry. Now think about which two industries are the most left-leaning, and Hollywood and academia come to mind, don’t they? Mission accomplished.

The reasons feminism spread so far and so wide were multicausal.

1920s:
1) The rise of Edward Bernays, mass media and modern marketing techniques allowed ideas to be sold to a target audience and on a massive scale.

Example, Bernays’ “torches of freedom” marketing campaign targeted at women was one of the first successful “slavery packaged as emancipation” victories and was a predecessor of things to come.

1960:
2) Elites wanted to double the tax base by getting women to work.
3) Similarly elites wanted to double consumer base as was accomplished in Bernays’ “torches of freedom” marketing campaign.
4) Elites wanted to get children into school early and have complete power to indoctrinate them, free of any family interference.

Elites began pursuing their goals using Bernays’ techniques to market the “slavery packaged as emancipation” message.

5) The target audience, women, have since the dawn of history, been easy to deceive and manipulate. The first bible story is about a woman, Eve, being deceived and manipulated, and with her deception and manipulation, mankind was expelled from paradise.

6) A nation of uncharitable men lacking any sort of brotherhood, had no qualms about parroting and enforcing the feminist line if they thought it suited them. Similarly, the men had no qualms about having sex with or marrying another man’s wife, once again, if they thought it suited them.

We find here another Biblical example: The story of David (alpha male) committing adultery with Bathsheba (female) who was married to Uriah (beta male), and the grievous consequences: David’s son from the adulterous episode with Bathsheba died a few days after birth.

Conclusion: Economic greed and lust for power by elites were the motivation for feminism; naive women and uncharitable and divided men were the fertile ground that allowed feminism to grow. Bernays’ marketing techniques and mass media were used to package and deliver the poison apple (feminism) to women.

The result: a nation of destroyed families, bastard children, homeless and lost men, and untold misery and suffering.

Now that the family is destroyed, we have been expelled from the second paradise (family) into yet another level of hell and misery.

You might want to look into the works of the British writer Wyndham Lewis. He already considered feminism to be victorious, a long time ago.

The “explosion” of feminism into every man’s life comes in the 1960s.

The Second Vatican Council has an immense social importance that is not understood. When the largest and most influential, as well as one of the most conservative denominations suddenly embraced liberalism in practice, it was like the destruction of a dyke that unleashed the flood. Of course there were technological changes with contraception and the changes in the mass media, but I am certain most secular minded people greatly underestimate the tremendous effect that removing traditional Catholic catechism and morality from a large segment of the population had on the rest of society. It was the removal of an immense social anchor.

From my personal experience, I have come to the conclusion that abortion is at the crux of female craziness today.

Older women cried with the legalization of abortion? Really? I guess I was too selfish to notice that. But I do concur with much of Joe’s thesis, but at a broader level. The contraception technologies enabled us to tamper with our biology so as to transform the purpose of sex from creating life and families into a leisure activity. By becoming a leisure commodity, men get the sex (provided they can pay or do tricks like a performing seal), women get the money (gubmint as provider), and childbirth becomes a matter of convenience.

Of course as others here have pointed out, feminist prototypes (eg, harpies, gorgons, witches, medusas) have been around for time immemorial. But always, the harsh realities, such as childbirth, eventually kick in to re-establish “normality”. With the contraception technologies, however, this corrective mechanism has been removed, and anything goes. PUAs are ultimately the only winners in all of this. Freed of these biological constraints, PUAs now have access to pussy to an extent that their kind had no hope of attaining before feminism.

Ironically, and contrary to the usual PUA/Game rhetoric, PUAs invert the whole evo-psych premise, because women no longer select for the best men. Instead they select for genetic inferiors (notice the preponderance among PUAs of very average dudes with minimal skills, often of midgit status, with little more going for them than the acquisition of game skills – which any monkey can learn, provided they regard bimbos as important enough to warrant the effort). Here is a true story:

A brother and a sister and two very different lives.

The sister realising that in the former soviet republic where she was born that if she did not marry soon she would be on the shelf (she was 26), marries a local bad boy and has two children. Divorces and joins an internet dating agency. My friend marries her. She comes here and now lives in a very nice house, with a garden, a car etc etc. Her brother who being single has no baggage has to travel to Leningrad to find work where he now lives in a room with ten other men.

The moral is that if you are cute as the sister is (a solid 8) doors open for you, but if you are a man, you are shafted, unless like the brother’s fellow countryman Genghis Khan, you put all to the sword and shag all the women. Truly men play the video game of life at the easiest level as we were being told the other day.

The real reason for the success of Feminism is simply that men will always pedestalise women, and women will always bite the hand that feeds them, convinced that they will always be forgiven and re-pedestalised.

Why is it that the BEST female contributor here seems to be Lara who is as loopy as they come, but at least she is not incoherent, does not use shaming as a technique of reasoning (and actually seems to like men – I’m guessing she is almost cute), or resort to foul-mouthed insults and comments as to the size of ones penis. Is Lara really the best that the female sex can produce to debate at The Spearhead? Why after copious and expensive education is the level of debate from women consistently no higher than that of a crowd of drunks at a soccer match. The women are condemned out of their own mouths – no commentary needed. Hilarity ensues as one goads them to ever greater absurdities.

Nothing Red has said (in so far as one can understand it) has added even a glimmer of luminosity to the question at the head, namely: How is it that Feminism grew so powerful?. What for example (her first sentence in her first post) does this mean? – even Hegel at his worst is not this impenetrable, ‘Why does it have to be an “evil” cult for women not to want to have to be the ones responsible for civilising society and holding it together’. W.F. Price’s ‘cult-like’ has thus metemorphosed to Red’s ‘evil cult’. I then continued by failing to understand any of your first sentence (to which you failed, even though I gave you the opportunity – to provide should you so wish, elucidation) and it is thus not that I object as such to the way you argue, but that your argument such as there is one, is not comprehensible – Andybob and I are in agreement there.

I always imagine that ‘Lara’ is actually a middle-aged librarian from De Moines, called Herbert. He created the character of ‘Lara’ as a clever pastiche of the collective cognitive failings of the female mind. ‘She’ has raised not getting it into an art form.

‘Lara’ always succeeds in failing to grasp the main point of absosutely everything, including her regular trips into downvoted oblivion. Throughout her travails, she remains chirpy and endearingly oblivious to the fact that the entire manosphere thinks she’s an ignorant twat.

The possibility that ‘she’ is actually a real person is too sad to contemplate. I prefer to think of ‘Lara’ as a creative outlet for Herbert – perhaps a parody of his overbearing lady supervisor. He has kept me entertained for a long time and has my appreciation.

My favourite female Spearhead commenter is Crella – she is smart, sassy and consistently empathetic towards men. She also has the least patience for trolls like Red (who promised to leave, but seems to be hanging around continuing to write gibberish). Emma the Emo gets better with every comment – she is genuine, which matters more than anything else. But Crella will always rule.

I knew a few older adult women who cried when abortion was legalized.

And the ones who cried the most about it were those who couldn’t concieve.
That was 40 years ago, and the older adult women I knew then were alot more old-fashioned and traditional than the women today.
Giving birth is a central feature of the female: The female carries and brings forth life, so it naturally follows that abortion affects them in a central place in their hearts.

I totally agree. In Sweden we have a culture of having small country houses with few amenities. Watch the chattering egalitarian classes change into traditionalists for a few weeks when going on summer holiday. Men work in the garden and make repairs/construction, women cook, clean, wash and take care of the children. Egalitarian life is just “playing (alternative) house”, which possible by cheap energy to inter alia reduce house work and buy buying (outsorcing) services from traditionalist lower income people (men working in construction, repairs, gardening etc. and women cleaning and taking care of children).

Its true what you say about Lara (but I have a soft spot for her off-the-wall stuff) – she is never abusive, and one day she might manage a paragraph of at least two sentences. I had not realised that Crella was female (though I always misread it Cruella – as in de ville). The fact that I had not realised crella was female speaks to the quality of her writing, as it is never about her, unlike the attention whores and their vaginas who provide us with so much unintended entertainment and confirm our prejudices.

Except when something mind-numbingly bizarre turns up I tend to read the comments of those writers who write best and who are the most perceptive – the two tend to go together. I learn a lot. Red is not in that category.

When late 60′s graduates of our Universities entered the work force they infiltrated women’s media and day time television in the 70′s. Glamour became Cosmopolitan and Days of Our Lives became Phil Donahue. The Leftist/Socialist movement tapped into women’s (perpetual) discontent and angst to enlist supporters for their agenda.

I distinctly remember my mother taking all this in during the day and starting to bust my fathers balls from the moment he came home from work; from about 1972 until they divorced in 1978 after 28 years of marriage. At the time, as a teenager, I thought Feminism did nothing but empower women to be disrespectful, if not rude. My view on this hasn’t changed.

It’s no coincidence that the majority of women are Democrat and the majority of men are Republican, and that almost 80% of single women are Democrat. Marginalize if not defeat Liberalism, and you reduce Feminism to a mere shell of what it is.

There will never be a Men’s Movement significant enough to defeat Feminism on it’s own. Much like Feminism would have remained on the fringes without Democrats and a Liberal biased education system and MSM.

To the strident Feminist the Woman and ONLY the woman takes precedence over all other life, including the “unborn”. To the strident Pro-life supporter, the potential child (regardess of gender), takes precedence over the Woman.

The man plays upon principles – higher truths – and thus there is an ordering to our existence. It moves forth the human race with structure.

The woman plays on compassion – and uses her relative truths to justify it – and this is also good and pro-survival. ie. Once your daughter comes home pregnant, you don’t want the mother to slut shame her and disown her… you want her to be compassionate and supportive, regardless of not following principle.

But, the one (principle) must lead the other (compassion) or we stop living as humans, and revert back to monkeys. There is a time and place for both, but principle must be the leader.

He recognised that your democracy would produce ‘weak men and strong women’. Democratic ideals lead to a lowest common-denominator levelling. You lack an Aristocracy to keep things in order.

I could have gone my whole life without realizing the damage that the movement is causing. They’ve written us off as an unimportant minority who can’t stop them. But they have underestimated us. It reminds me of what Lanny Davis recently said about George Bush: “I knew, from my earliest memories of George W. Bush, that not only did people routinely underestimate him — but that he encouraged them to do so”. I’m not necessarily a fan of W, but one thing is for sure – he was never afraid of those who opposed him, and neither am I.

The feminists have done their damage in my life, but I have two children who won’t be indoctrinated the way I was.

WRB — all non-psychopaths are capable of feeling guilt; it’s simply a matter of what the culture promotes as “sinful.” In East Asia the Confucian-influenced cultures (Abrahamic tradition-free) have plenty of guilt to go around, although some would characterize it as “shame” in that one is concerned about not acting dishonorably in front of the community rather than fearing the judgment of an omnipresent Creator. But having dated Asian-Americans, I can definitively say that they will often feel guilty about not sufficiently honoring their ancestors.

Although I will admit that compassion can be exploited — con-men use that tactic often.

So, whether we agree that it was the Frankfurt school, the illuminiti, masons or bilderbergs, as it applies to the MRA, the prima facie of feminism is that it is artificial. And that is the core of our strength. We will do well be acknowledging it and embracing it in our movement…indeed it should be part of the soul of the MRA. Why? Because feminism does not occur naturally. Ergo, this refutes the contemporary narrative that feminism is here because women are superior to men. I’ll get to that in a second. A discouraging theme at the MRA is defeatism; it truly saddens me to read defeat in some of the posters…the part I hate the most is that some people seem to have submitted to this utterly false accusation. Never mind the ethics of it, I can prove right here and right now that women are not the superior to men. In fact, after I do this you tell me who may or may not be superior.

Take a moment, and look around your immediate area, if close to a window look out of it. Everything you see was conceived, designed, financed, manufactured and delivered by men. The females involved in the process, albeit more today due to state mandates, were de minimus. Apply this throughout time. Yes, we have strong women of the past, how many remakes of Queen Elizabeth can we take, but viewed from the whole, once again, women are the outliers.

So, we rightly ask where feminism came from. JP is right with his propaganda theme. Allow me to elaborate. Kindly google Napoleon on his throne by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. This painting was done in 1806. It remains to be a very important piece of “art”. Why? Aesthetically, Jean proves himself a competent painter, but so were many others. It’s the message and more importantly the effect that this painting had over the people of France post-revolution in the early 1800s. Indeed, the strong angles suggest dynamicism, the allusions to previous monarchies speak to his place of power as well as a divine component to it, even the man child face plays on the man child imagery of Christ. This painting was about Napoleons control. Isn’t it quite remarkable…that a two dimension medium, a frozen image could convince so many people to submit parts of their free will to one person – to the point that many marched right into their death in Russia? Never mind trying to define the mental acrobats of how this happens…focus on this, it just did. Now if a painting can control people and that was an effective mass media propaganda tool in a time when news moved at the speed of humans and livestock, what about today? The media is blasted into every corner of existence, at least in America; you can’t even pump gas or sit in a cab without the msm! Moreover, it tells dynamic stories and uses special effects that look so darn real, you just can’t help to think that those alien invaders really exist. Can you imagine the woody Napoleon would have had today?

So from paintings to high def 48 inch screen tv’s with 2000 channels, I think we can conclude that the ability to control people via images has grown exponentially. Did any of you guys know what a metrosexual was before “Queer eye for the straight guy” came out? Ask yourself who are the mythmakers today? Basically, their attitude towards Christianity was to cherry-pick and use whatever elements they found in it to their own purposes.

A lot of people who see the roots of feminism in Christianity are mistakenly reversing cause and effect. Christianity didn’t cause Marxism or Feminism, but the Marxists/feminists appropriate elements of Christianity that are useful to them. When it’s no longer useful, their anti-Christian bent comes out in full force.

Notice how feminists use those same dynamics in all their relationships.

And it’s why the Marxist dialectic works so well for feminism. It supports Egalitarianism regardless of gender, by government decree.

Actually running a household is a shit ton of work. Even with a washing machine and vacuum and dishwasher, just handling the meals is a full time job. Especially if you are interested in creating healthy delicious meals on a budget. Toaster waffles? Yeah, no.

But fat middle class women decided it was easier to open a can than bother with actually cooking and in giving up their care-taking duties found themselves with nothing to do and more importantly, NO ONE TO BLAME HEY LET’S BLAME MEN.

Well, in all fairness, men DID invent all the labor saving devices and appliances and pretty much every other useful thing humanity has conceived of, so absolutely LET’S BLAME MEN.

What? Blame ourselves you say? Impossible. Look in the mirror you say? Inconceivable. No, it must be men that are to blame.

Taking care of a home and children PROPERLY is a full time job. Look around you. Are you fat? Are your children fat? Are you plagued with illness, stress, unhappiness? You’re not doing your job properly, then. There is no one to blame. A woman’s place is in the home, especially when there are small children in that home. Home and work was the exact same space for most of human history. For women, it still should be.

Losing the connection to their primal work is what allowed feminism to take root so ferociously. And in forcing more and more women out of the home (even when they really want to be there), it is self-perpetuating.

The advantage of course is that the feminist brigade can’t be bothered to have children. So yay! Goodbye, bitches.

These techiniques don’t work on religions with an educated and disciplined priesthood (e.g. Orthodox Judaism & Christianity; Roman Catholicism; Islam), so the tactics change from ingratiation to outright attack, and other attempts to discredit these faiths. That alone should prove to so-called ‘progressive’ churches and synagogues exactly what path they’re being led down—i.e. the path to the guillotine— as soon as the marxist/ feminists consider them to have served their purpose.

I think the argument could be made instead that depriving Christianity of Mary and the female saints actually helped lead to feminism. As long as those entities represented a feminine spiritual polarity, mortal women couldn’t imagine themselves (as they now do) as earthly goddesses. Men, too, weren’t inclined to pedestalise mortal women when Mary was the ideal of femininity to whom no mortal female was equal.

Also, women in the past were taught to see Mary and other female saints as role models. Instead of cultivating ‘the goddess within’ they had examples of female saints whose virtues they could imitate.

As for bowing to her: I have no idea, as I have never been awarded a gong – though I am quite used to bowing to far lesser people such as Circuit Judges and lowly Justices of the Peace. Never met a Royal in my life; never likely to either: but is it Feminism? – well not really any more than it was for Victoria or the first Elizabeth, I would guess. The last long lived British male monarch was George III and you rejected him, as I seem to recall.

In the 1140s (before my time) ‘Empress’ Matilda (of Boulogne) brought this country to civil war and was thrown out by the citizens of London (and was thus never crowned Queen). Earlier still Boudica of the Icini lost the country to your friends the Romans, so women can be disastrous. Men are deferrential to women in a way that they are unlikely to be to a man – witness your own views of The Prince of Wales – who may or may not, at some future time, be King.

That’s an interesting observation. I recently read Dr. Inazo Nitobe’s book ‘Bushido’ which was written in Victorian England. Nitobe was trying to explain Japanese culture to English audiences. He had some interesting observations about how different the Japanese and English concepts of chivalry were, for example.

‘For the woman in the Bushido ethic, life focused on the home as the center of the universe. The man focused his life on service to his Emporer. To praise one’s wife was thought to be in very bad taste. It was the equivalent of praising some part of yourself…In British Civilization, man paid respect for woman. Women supported it because it promised them a load of freebies, welfare and privileges. Men tolerated it because traditional culture taught them to always support women and not to think of their own welfare. The state promoted it because they knew that the majority of women would rather live as privileged slaves than to join their men in the fight for freedom. Throughout history, it has been men who overthrow oppressive governments so the state knew that if they could empower women and put them in charge, they wouldn’t have to worry about an armed rebellion. The psychologist wing of the scientific dictatorship also understood that the one area to which male logic did not extend was to women, and that men would tolerate a lot of hatred and abuse from women and would not protest their servitude to women as long as they were getting laid. I believe it was Hitler who said something along the lines of “first you get the women, then the men would follow”.

I realize that my response would anger any ‘humanist’ who would negate the validity of such writings…. but, the warning was clearly given thousands of years ago in writings by men who clearly saw what lied in the future if MEN were to acquiesce to any power play brought on by the fairer sex…. GOD.

It was Eve who then presented the idea of having Adam bite the Apple, right???

How does that really look??? Like this…. “Honey… I’ve been couped up in this house with the kids….I need some ME time…. I’m going to go out with the girls….”

But Adam didn’t like the idea at first…. “But your friends are all divorced, or they like cheating on their husbands… and I really don’t like the idea of you hanging with them…”

Eve’s response….”They said you would say that…. you’re just trying to CONTROL me…. just like they said you were doing…. You better let me go…. or ELSE….”

It’s the “OR ELSE” that trips Adam up….. because Adam knows…. that means…. he ain’t getting to that Garden down below anytime soon if he doesn’t give in for the time being…

But what Adam didn’t know was that, if he had just stood his ground, ‘kindly, but firmly’ and actually decided that he didn’t NEED the old pussy so bad…. it would have come back around to him eventually…

but Adam didn’t…. he said…. “OKAY….. you need your time too…”

It did say later that Adam and Eve were ‘shamed’…. right???

Adam lost his power to the pussy….

And why do you think they were cast OUT of Eden…

Cause once Eve became in control…. the divorce rate went up to sixty percent……

You can laugh all you want…. but I can assure you… my very BEAUTIFUL, SMART, and talented wife, doesn’t laugh at this.

It depends on which type of feminism we are talking about here. There are substantive differences between your’e mothers “Equality feminism” and todays Gender, Gender-Raunch style feminism.
For example, Your’e mothers “Equality feminism” would have viewed it as ” Objectifying women” when a university professor takes a saws-all with a dildo strapped on the end of it, to a womens vagina; as a “Class project”.
The University “gender-feminist” community embraced this “Professor -Raunch”, and his saws-all; and he was only reprimanded when the old “Equality-feminists” of yer mothers generation called the University to complain about its inappropriateness.

I was just reading on “A voice for men” that a womens groups venue was closed down because they would not let the “transgendered community” attend their meeting.
Wow, the trans-gendered community just trumped the womens community. What does this mean???
Does this mean that in todays “gender-feminist” paradigm, that the trangendered community is more powerful than the womens lobby??/

I think feminism in one form or another has always been with us, and has always been part of the human experience. Even male feminists have always existed.
– The male feminists/whiteknight knee scraping before females is essentially a spill-over from female self-worship.

From my observances the female propensity to put themselves first (unrestrained ego) has been with us for a very long time. And onward it goes.
