Hanna Rosin’s recent video on the “End of Men,” a continuation of her efforts to assert that women are taking over the world because in societies that don’t depend on brute strength, intellectually superior women should naturally ascend to dominance.
Never mind the glaring Master Gender implications of Rosin’s elitist ideology. There is another concern here that Rosin smugly showcases for her viewing audience.
Her psychological abuse of her own children.
Having spent two decades counselling populations that are disproportionately affected by abuse of all kinds, I happen to know something about the subject.
Her abuse of them is clear and unmistakable, though some may not notice because we tend to see abuse in terms of overtly physical and sexual acts. Psychological abuse, a devastating form, can be much more subtle, but Rosin does manage to make it more obvious when she drags her children into the video, which is provided at the bottom for your convenience.
At 7:15 in the video, Rosin unambiguously asserts that females are superior to males in several ways, most notably that they are more intelligent and better communicators and listeners that are able to focus better than males, essentially making them more suitable for lucrative professional positions. She uses these ideas to essentially laud the creation of a male underclass- as women continue to thrive.
She also notes that boys are falling way behind girls in education (which she acts as though is troubling), but says she can’t offer any reasons for that because she is writing a book about it and has not done the research.
So rather than use scholarly references, she offers up her 10 year old daughter’s “expertise,” showing a home video of an interaction involving the Rosin family.
First and foremost, we must keep in mind what this interaction is. It is one of a 10 year old girl, gloating on an outrageous sense of superiority over boys, while her younger brother is forced to sit silently and listen.
At 9:40 we are introduced to Noa, who is sitting next to mother Hannah at a table. Opposite this pair is the father and Rosin’s son, neither of whose names did Rosin mention. Noa is there to explain why the boys in her class do not perform as well as the girls.
“The girls are obviously smarter,” she says, her tone laden with derision. She goes on, stating, “I mean, they [girls] have much larger vocabularies. They learn much faster.”
At this point the son lifts his arms and attempts to object with, “No!”
The father touches his arm, clearly an admonishment, and says, “Let her talk,” without as much as looking at him.
The message at this point is already crystal clear. In the Rosin family, the belief is that females are superior to males, and any dissent from this will not be allowed.
Noa continues her speech. “They [girls] are much more controlled. The boys today are losing recess. …[O]nly boys.”
At this point Hanna interrupts to ask. “And why is that?”
“They were just not listening to the class while the girls sat there very nicely,” answers Noa, her sense of superiority even more evident in her voice. Apparently in her class, each and every boy is a behavioral problem, while each and every girl is a model student. Either that, or the teacher is gender profiling for punishment in the classroom.
But either way, make no mistake about it; where the Rosin family is concerned, this is the psychological abuse of both children.
First consider the son, and I know there will be many that would say he did not appear to be adversely affected by what happened in this video. It’s true; he does not appear to have clearly visible effects for the three seconds the camera was on him.
But that camera is not capable of telling us what is going on with his self image, even though he tried to tell us himself by objecting to being barraged with messages of how inferior he was to his sister, and indeed to all women.
Now, if that does not convince you of a problem here; if you are looking at this and asking, “Hey, what’s the big deal?” let me ask you to imagine your reaction to a family scene where a son, with scripted assistance from his father, is allowed to tell his younger sister how superior boys are while the mother sits by to enforce the daughters silence as it happens?
It would be abusive, would it not? So is this. Period.
If Rosin is actually writing a book on why boys are failing, I would suggest that her abusive form of parenting might provide her good source material. She will likely be able to support it later when her son fails out of school. It happens to a lot of people with diminished self worth.
The father is no less culpable. Almost all abusive homes have one primary abuser, and a chief enabler. While likely well controlled by Hanna, Dad is obviously the muscle behind his wife’s philosophical edicts. His son would not be being abused if didn’t have a father who allowed it. And his daughter would not be learning a hateful mentality if her father was giving her the loving guidance she needs.
And that brings us to the matter of young Noa. What are we doing to children when we raise them with the mentality that they are superior to entire classes of human beings?
Well, for one we are subjecting them to the same learned hatred that resulted in a countless forms of bigotry and discrimination that we have long sought to correct; the same learned hatred that resulted in segregated schools (though that will not be necessary with boys if we just drum them out of education altogether).
We have fought the scourge of racism being taught to our children. We teach young men now, from an early age and rightly so, that any notion of superiority to women is misguided, destructive and will not be tolerated.
It is not just because those ideas are wrong, but because we know that raising children with hateful, racist and sexist ideas has a severely negative impact on what kind of adults they will turn out to be.
These same concerns should extend to boys as well, but as we saw in the snickering reaction of the audience to that video, and the smugness with which Hanna Rosin puts her abusive mothering on display for the world, we have a long way to go.
Rosin’s personal catch phrase in recent times has been, “The End of Men.”
It is an idea she is obviously dedicated to, as evidence by the fact that she is destroying the youngest, most vulnerable man in her life, right in her own home, and putting it on display for the world to laugh at.

When many mothers can happily, and without guilt, have part of their son’s penis lopped off at birth, without any anesthesia, I have to wonder if most are even capable of loving their sons at all, then shit like this surface and all doubt is removed. Surely no loving parent will put up with any of their children being talked down to like an animal, but proof like this is quite common as I’ve witness this several times. And before someone like lara say it, spare me the NAWALT.

“All I see is a happy family engaging in private jokes and banter. If you call that abuse, then telling a child off or laughing at them is abuse.”
It’s damaging, for 2 main reasons.
1.) It’s just one of many barrages a young boy has to deal with, constantly telling him how females are better than him and that they should throw rocks at him. If this continues, he will grow up believing he’s worthless.
2.) Having the father figure – and likely his male role model – submit to his wife by overruling his objection teaches him that you should never argue against a woman. This is how white knights and manginas are created.
I’m going to have to disagree with you on this. I’m positive if the roles were reversed, and it was the son saying how superior boys are to girls while the wife forces the daughter to watch, you wouldn’t think it’s harmless fun.

@Jake
Not sure if you’re being serious, but my first take of the video was pretty much in line with Paul’s analysis (my comment on that thread even referred to her poor bastard son)
Whilst the surface take is as you note, a seemingly happy family, the power dynamic is clear. The argument could be made that this is a one-off occurrence, but bearing in mind the mother’s politics, it seems unlikely.
The overriding impression I had from listening to the young bitch-in-training talk was one of insufferable smugness; and the content of what was said supports the idea that her views had been constructed over time through directed interactions with her mother (how many 10 year olds use the term ‘vocabulary’ like that?)
The bright side of this is that that kid will grow up with a chip on his shoulder, and is unlikely to become a simpering mangina like the father-figure that infests his home. Sure, he won’t have an easy childhood (hell, what boy could with a bitch like Hanna for a mother), but my gut tells me that he’s not going to submit quietly to the abuse he’s receiving.
When he does rebel, Hanna will of course find every other reason under the sun for his behaviour, but she will never consider that its her own actions that have made her son into what he will become.

“I’ve watched the video. All I see is a happy family engaging in private jokes and banter. If you call that abuse, then telling a child off or laughing at them is abuse.” – Jake Turner -
Sorry, I certainly disagree with your observation. One of the first conclusions I drew from watching that video was how Rosin encouraged a mental “beat down” (with the assistance of her mangina husband) of her son. I’d bet that is a common occurrence at her home and will cause some long term damage to her son. I’m glad I didn’t grow up with her as my mom.
Another great article by Paul!

Now, isn’t this just the microcosm of modern life. The young Princess is explaining how girls are, like, totally superior to boys but she still needs daddy to all but gag her little brother, lest he show up her mad skillz.
Apparently, her vocabulary doesn’t stretch to ‘irony’.
Hey, if this really is the dawn of the New Grrrrl Order, shouldn’t they be able to put up with people being allowed to argue back?

Ya the little cameo appearance by the daughter showed pretty obviously that her conditioning and grrrl power brainwashing is bought in large part at her brothers expense. It also showed that the mangina father is the one responsible for keeping the boy in line, his action to quiet him was too instinctive to have been a rare activity. I got the impression that it happens frequently by the way the father jumped on it.
Now picture boys going through this same type of conditioning and automatic, swift silencing along with common physical control at their daily public school indoctrination sessions. It’s easy to see why boys drop out of school.

I wonder if she plans to abort her son. After all, it is her prerogative. She, like all women, has the right to muder her children. (they call it love, FYI)
But maybe she enjoys herself too much humiliating him.
I think I can feel the orgasms she must get by turning her son into a zombie for the world to see.
But this behavior in a female does not surprise me at all. I think that as women reveal their true nature, we will have plenty of chances to be horrified..we have seen nothin’ yet. The best is still to come, so, don’t hold your beath. Wait till their vomit and venom come out like a tsunami…
This woman here is of the reptilian kind. Harmful but not lethal. This kind of women will push their sons into commiting suicide and get delighted at the mere thought.
It is the insectoid female that you must avoid, not so much the reptilian woman. The insectoid woman is very much like the black widow. Careful!

Ms. Rosin’s son obviously can barely contain himself from rudely interupting his big sister. They should have him examined by a professional therapist for ADD. If he needs medication to curb his unruly behavior, so be it. He must be tranquilized into a state of complete subjugation to female dominance, at home and in school.
What Ms. Rosin was attempting to prove with that personal/anecdotal little snippet of her feminist mothering skills, is that grrls really are superior because her daughter demonstrates a learned vocabulary for her age. Be aware this shrewess is gearing up to make a career out of feigned sympathy for males, while cuntining to promote the feminist agenda. Writing for Slate and other liberal rags only pays so much.

Modern mothers are training their sons for slavehood. Every mother who supports Feminism is knowingly or not, hurting her sons and elevating her daughters. And then there is the chivalry indoctrination, which is akin to spraying her teenage son with female repellant. The end result is a castrated male, a process that began with a scalpel at birth.

Don’t forget fathers who play a HUGE role in wanting “what’s best” for their daughters. “Best” being an education, a career and independence from other men.
Honestly, when was the last time you heard a father say he hoped above all his daughters would meet a worthy young gentlemen to marry and have children? It’s not something the modern father promotes in his daughter’s mind. He wants her to strike out into the world and compete with men, not marry them!

AMEN! Father’s can be their son’s worst enemy if they have one or more princess daughters. The sad part is, that they don’t know it – believing all the propaganda they’ve received over the years. And the ironic part is, that their daughters will also end up with a less than ideal life because of their father’s erroneous guidance.

Keyster-Very true that fathers of daughters support Feminism. I used to be friends with a guy who now has three daughters. He has essentially adopted radical feminism as his ideology. I don’t talk to him anymore.
Then there are all these white knighting older males that think every woman is as “precious and unspoiled” as his daughters supposedly are. Yeah, right.

As the father of a daughter (I have a son, too), I can understand why feminism might gain some traction with fathers. You love your kids, whether they are male or female, so anything that seems as though it would benefit them is appealing. For example, if you had a handicapped child, or a child with Down syndrome, you’d probably have an entirely different take on those conditions than someone who does not, and you’d support helping kids who were afflicted by those problems.
However, what a lot of fathers don’t understand is that feminism is not helping their daughters. It is discrediting them, turning them away from their own nature, and urging them to make choices that – in most cases – will lead to a less happy outcome.
But I also think it’s important to remember that fathers today have little influence on their daughters. The far more troublesome side of the equation is their mothers, who these days are often hardcore feminist ideologues. The problem with the fathers is mainly in that they seek to punish other men, but if they have no moral authority – and taking that away should be a major priority for us – they will not be very effective in this regard.

Even with our feminized school system and the beating down and drugging of boys and young men, they still can’t beat the math out of them. Men still score significantly better than women on the math section of the SAT:
http://mjperry.blogspot.com/2010/12/perfect-sat-math-scores-males-outnumber.html
How about this: 8,072 men got a perfect score of 800 while only 3,887 women got a perfect score.
Of course some feminist tries to explain it away with sample size criticisms, but she’s soundly rebutted. I’m sure the awful Rosin and her minions will not rest until the gap is eradicated. It’s going to take a big effort, because men are biologically much better at math than women. Fact.

The funny thing is that by the time Noa is an “adult” , most likely Red China is going to be disabusing her of all those notions of superiority. Don’t forget, we have a non economy, buitl up by years of debt building, entitlements granting, and non development. The entire country is prattling on about how pushing females to the forefront of the economy helps drive it, even though they are the ones who build debt, seek entitlements, and don’t develop. In 20 years things are going to look very different than they do now, and many men are going to be too busy jumping ship or looking or subsistence jobs to be supporting the feminist illusion of female superiority.
Noa thinks she’s superior right now because she can throw around more words. But who builds the better airplane models? Who climbs up the highest trees? Who does the dirty work? I’d bet next week’s paycheck it isn’t Noa or any of her friends. She thinks she’s hot shit because she’s onthe way to becoming another femiskank pundit, but in 20 years this economy won’t be able to support feminists sitting around doing nothing. It won’t be able to support most men who can actually DO something, so Noa will be really out of luck.
I can only hope that the end of feminists in this country is at least as bloody as the end of royalty in France.

Minus the ball and chain nonsense what Lara says here is true. Women are more docile and tractable and that’s exactly the way our overlords like it. Boys wanna know why and don’t wanna go by the curriculum especially if they really love or hate something. They’ll either wanna go farther and faster or nowhere at all in a particular subject. It’s really how schools work now though. They are not there to educate your children. That’s why I’m homeschooling. Glad I read Gatto’s book.

This is total nonsense. If this were true, how is it that men have been the great philosophers, inventors, leaders, and so on? Honestly, do these people really believe this shit?
I feel sorry for this woman’s son. Actually, I feel sorry for the girl too, because it’s not like having a shitty attitude about males is going to help unless she’s planning on being a lesbian. I always cringe when I see these kinds of couples, where it appears the woman keeps the man’s balls in her purse. It’s embarrassing from both sides.

It never seems to occur to Rosin and her ilk that one result of females having such well controlled focus and attention is that they rarely can have thoughts that are not supplied to them from someone else. In other words, original, innovative ideation REQUIRES a certain amount of waywardness of mind.
This just might be related to the fact that virtually every useful break-thru in human history came from guys.
And always swill. Though not perhaps so much in countries with feminized educational systems.

“We have fought the scourge of racism being taught to our children. We teach young men now, from an early age and rightly so, that any notion of superiority to women is misguided, destructive and will not be tolerated.”
There are many things gross to the interaction in that home video, The problem isn’t just a social gender thing, teaching the kid that boys are below girls. There’s probably sibling rivalry vindicated by mom and dad, adult world issues being shoved in this kids face beyond his understanding and objections, and as Paul points out Rosin saying their son is less.
I don’t even want to put this in a social context like racism because this is so objectionable on the basis of family dynamics and the fact that kids are by definition vulnerable. This abusive behavior is clearly not ok. Hate within the family from the parents is loads worse than hate or superiority towards a race, religion, or economic.
(Im sure you already knew that Paul, but tried to make this article more sociological. I just wouldn’t even bother bringing up race or the fact that way we teach against male superiority. It is interesting and useful to think of what would happen if the genders were reversed in that home video. However the assertion that Rosin is abusing her son seems as self evident as if it were a girl being abused, because this abuse isn’t just about genders relations. The only way I could imagine people being ok with abuse towards the boy and not abuse to the girl is if their clueless about psychology or they are very misandric. Maybe I’m wrong though…)
On the subject of what we used to teach boys it should be remembered that when we said boys were good at something we also gave boys responsibility, in fact I’d argue the only “advantage” we generally gave to boys was responsibilities. We’ve also put women on a pedestal in a number of ways for some time now.
So according to Rosin women are superior, but when would she teach women to support men (without holding it over their heads) and even fork over more of the resources to them.
I will gladly see the changing gender dynamic when men form support networks as they’ve done in the past and shut up people like Rosin and her hollow superiority ideas.

Ms. Rosin’s comfy little world will be shattered when little Noa starts going boy crazy in a few years.
First they couldn’t make it because of discrimination, access and opportunity, otherwise they were equal.
Since that canard was proven to be false, it’s now all about confidence, self-esteem and falsely exhalting them as better; its an attempt to prime a social pump that biologically doesn’t exist. If they keep hearing that they’re fantastic and boys are dumb, perhaps they’ll grasp the concept and prove once and for all what feminists have been saying.
We’re in the midst of seeing a generation of 20-30yr old women indocrinated to think that they’re just as good, by a generation of parents that thought women were oppressed and discriminated against. No one should wonder why they’re so surly, bitter and dissapointed with life.

It’s not just a joke, it supposed to support her “thesis”. Throw in a couple of bar graphs and now we know! If only the rest of life’s mysteries could be unveiled this way!
She failed to mention why at the same time the economy is at the worst point it’s been in modern times. Let me guess, it’s all because of guys like Madoff, right? Simple minds will accept nothing else.
I know a few metal workers and machinists, and I’d call what they do as requiring more “skill” than most white collar positions out there. On top of that, they actually create things of value. Mizz Rosin’s export of hot air in an auditorium on the other hand, does not.
Rosin appears to be yet another woman who clearly despises male power and wants to replace it just to make her feel better about herself. She doesn’t understand it because she hasn’t figured out what truly drives women like herself. The main difference between men and women in power is that women are far less likely to have the desire to provide for their dependents. Their “nesting” instinct will take over and it won’t occur to them that they ought to use it for a purpose outside their own cause. Their creativity and inventiveness will always be restricted by the acceptance they don’t want to lose among their peers. Women are also famous for getting into as many workplace conflicts as they possibly can and as a result have a harder time setting minor differences aside and working as a team towards a goal.
It’s like my first boss said about his wife: “What’s hers is hers and what’s mine is hers too.”

The way I see it the west is screwed, because the only real asset we have is being mistreated in such a way that they can hardly continue our society even if given a free reign to do that.
We end up with a shitload of worthless women and uneducated, emasculated men.
Even if some boys have learned about MGTOW and done something about it, they will be too few to really make a difference.
The only units that can make a difference are strong male bands, but they do not seem to be able to form unless in etnic groups and not in in multicultural societies. If this is true we are looking at some trouble about to happen.

The problem with boys in education today, is the “education” itself. The idea of mandatory factory type education is relatively new. Today’s education doesn’t rely on analytical or critical thinking skills, it is about rote memorization, which is the lowest form of learning. It is also the form of learning most accessible to those who are below the gifted IQ range. Can anyone here who saw that video really say that Noa espoused her own ideas.
A common technique in traditional education systems to access if the students are learning anything is to ask one of them to repeat the lesson in their own words. If they cannot do this, then they have failed to be educated. Western education up until the industrial revolution was a one-on-one affair with a teacher student relationship. Plato’s Allegory of the Cave illustrates what education was expected to do.
The teacher-student relationship was like the parent-child relationship, or mentorship, however in our egalitarian society such ideas of superiority and inferority might hurt someone’s feelings. As the great Marcus Aurelius likened all aspects of life to combative sports, let us draw the analogy: a good education is like fight training, the student learns the moves, experiences faux fights, and recieves instruction in the best ways to contend. It is active in nature, a boxer-in-training doesn’t just sit like a lump and take instruction, he exercises it, learns the techne of the art. In the Philosophy this is known as dialectics which gave rise to logic and science.
But modern education is about teachers being overpaid for the over-valuation of their student’s performance, hence we have a “monkey-see, monkey-do” philosophy of education.
It is no accident that as more women gain “college” degrees the value of education drops.

You’re confusing physical maturity with intelligence. Girls have an average headstart of 2 years over boys when it comes to the onset of puberty symptoms. The female mind, on the other hand, remains stagnant throughout a woman’s life.
Certainly, a girl can mature even faster mentally when for example, her parents died when she’s young and she has to assume the role of mother and provider for her younger siblings. However, even this has nothing to do with intelligence.
The female mind does not know cause and effect, cannot be introspective, cannot think of the ‘big picture’, have poor spatial analysis capabilities, and utterly dull. Case in point: comedians and a sense of humor are related to wit, which in turn is linked to intelligence. Name me a good female comedian, and I will name you plenty more male ones. No contest.

Two quick points:
* Rosin is in this to make money. She wrote a buzz-generating Atlantic piece, gave a buzz-generating TED talk, and is now parlaying that buzz into a book. Jake Turner’s point that the clip is cut down (by Rosin, AFAIK) to its most inflammatory is well-taken. Sure, she’s peddling destructive misandrist nonsense, but she’s doing it to make a buck. Paying her excessive attention encourages her. (Admittedly, some note should be taken of what she says, as it demonstrates the true nature of “feminist” attitudes.)
* We should realize how much her schtick concedes to our (or, at least, my view): Men and women (and boys and girls) are different, according to her. Think, for a minute, about how much that concession undermines the entire feminist project. Sure, there’s the double standard problem, (“Women > Men”: “Yay!”, “Men > Women”: “Sexist!”) but that’s surmountable. One way to take this is to say: “Okay, Mrs. Rosin, we agree that there are deep-seated, biological differences between male and female minds. Now, let’s talk about what those differences are, and what they imply. Let’s begin by dispensing with the notion that boys and girls should be educated side-by-side, under a single (feminine) regime. Let’s follow that up with an apology to Larry Summers.”

Absolutely! Don’t forget the maxim “Those who can’t do, teach”. It may not be correct 100% of the time, but with all the emphasis on passive learning and the overiding feminist agenda on nearly every campus out there, it fits.
@Jake Turner
Hanna Rosin needs to make a few retractions on her “thesis” before I can let her make a joke about the situation. She has made a career off of categorizing men as blockheads who can’t excel in the modern world. We didn’t need this video to know that she can’t be trusted to raise boys with any inkling of self confidence… but now we do know she has convinced her husband to divorce all masculinity from their household. Both of them should have known better than to throw their children into it. I don’t care if everybody’s smiling, the message is still the same.

Boys test significantly higher than girls in math and logic, and slightly higher in verbal skills when the tests are standardized and blindly graded. This difference carries over into adulthood.
In an attempt to eliminate the gender gap in SAT scores (boys consistently scored higher on the reading and mathematical sections), the “writing” section was added. This is blatant favoritism of girls, because writing can only be subjectively graded, and if you have a bunch of college English grads scoring them by far the majority of reading test scorers will be female and favor the obtuse, formulaic female writing style.
Due to the new writing section, I don’t think the SAT has the right to call itself “standardized” any longer. Bastardized Aptitude Test would be more appropriate.

Females have larger vocabulary = more intelligent.
LOL.
They do talk a lot and often take a long time to say simple things.
If the number of words used to say something is a measure of intelligence, then they win.
If they take longer to achieve the same result then that makes them better. LOL.
Just feed them the rope and they’ll do the rest. Let them satiate their insecurities by proving’ it.
Giving them a confused look, with a slight frown and a grin, causes the smuggly arrogant type to drive themselves nuts. Laughing at them after they’ve argued their point sends them into a spin.
l figure someone who has to argue and prove themselves is trying to convince themselves.

That is fine with me, but it only proves my point further. What the fuck is any family doing pitting their children against each other in a debate on who the Master Gender is?
That is more of the same shit. Should they not be teaching them to value themselves and each other?
On top of that, are you really oblivious to the fact that this supposedly “fair debate” between the two children (the one in which the older female with more advanced verbal skills could not lose) ended up as fodder for the misandric pig of a mother to use in her pitch for supremacy?
In a way, I think the video already posted paints the more accurate picture because that is the result Herr Rosin was looking for to begin with, to amplify the same contention she obsessed on in the video; that women are better than men.
Please.
@ Twenty:
Females have never wanted equality for the sexes. They’ve wanted superiority, plain and simple. Equality is just the word they use to get you in the door.
@ Jake:
The men’s arguments are presented as strawmen, to show how men of the past were only successful because of all the “oppression” they had to endure. By first stating how females are excelling past boys today, and then contrasting that with the success of men past, Rosin makes the case for the existence of an “oppressive” patriarchy, and why it needs to be destroyed.
Really, it would be more obvious if it were White people standing up there talking about Whites vs everyone else. The White man who did that might not even make it off the stage in some parts. If the speaker were Black, it would be all over Faux News and the internet about violent Black supremacists and such. And make a claim like that about some Jews. If you don’t get libeled into the ground and possibly lose your job, tell me how you did it so I can make controversial statements in the future and not have to worry about my ass.

Doubtless some feminists have always wanted superiority, and merely used equalist rhetoric as a flag of convenience. (The majority, I suspect, have just been looking for minor personal advantage, or to indulge themselves in a good whine, or to blame their failures and disappointments on someone or something else.) Nevertheless, equalist rhetoric is a potent weapon, and I view it as good for our side (i.e., an opportunity) that some feminists are now confident/foolish enough to drop it.
Female supremacist rhetoric, for example, enables us to clearly explain why no feminist should be allowed to teach boys. Indeed, it allows us to argue that feminism constitutes “hate speech”. (Alinsky’s Rule #4: “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.”) Now, that’s not the way I’d go: I’d prefer to pocket the concession of sex differences and argue the details, rather than adopt the PC equalist line; my point is that there’s a lot that can be done here.
Rosin’s sort of silliness opens many lines of attack for us, as illustrated by your excellent hypotheticals of similar TED talks given along racial lines.

There is something more to this Ms. Rosin than just another feminist out to establish herself as a “gender expert” and make a buck. Just like the Denver article over at AVfM, she’s actually highlighting the fact that feminism won and men are dust. She’s declaring victory for the sisterhood! She’s refuting the tired old data and presenting the new.
Female victimhood is getting to be a dead paradigm. If women can’t be victims feminists lose power. Note how quiet the usual grrls clubs have been over her little routine. Not a one is supporting her views.

Lara’s observation about boys is correct. Plotting IQ scores on an axis produces a standard or Gaussian distribution if there are enough data points. The variance of this distribution is wider for boys and men than for women and girls. Since IQ is connected to impulse control, it is therefore no surprise that there are more men in prison than women.
With regard to SAT’s, the first important issue that must be recognized is simple: not every young man or young woman takes the test. As a rule, the sample population is drawn from the upper half, or right hand side of the distribution. The higher variance IQ will therefore produce a larger number of data points 1 sigma out from the mean than the lower variance. This means that there are more high intelligence men than high intelligence women, and more median intelligence women than men.
Therefore, given the facts known about distribution of IQ, it makes perfect sense that young men would consistently score higher on a test such as the SAT than young women in the aggregate because both sets are drawn from the upper half of the distribution.
It also means that a true genius, and a deeply retarded individual, are both more likely to be male. But feminists never look at the left hand side of the distribution; they literally do not notice the millions of men who are below normal IQ. If they did, they would have to recognize that millions of women, no matter how ordinary their lifes, have it better than those men. They’d have to come to terms with biological reality…

Hmm, can’t argue with that. Good point. But it still annoys me when it is suggested that women have better verbal skills than men, because they do not — at least not at the skill levels where it makes a difference.
Also, I think men do have better spatial skills on average. However, I’ll give women the advantage where deception comes into play — I’ve never seen more shameless liars than women, and having no shame about it is really what makes it work.

Another aspect of the extended schooling system is that it keeps people from actuating themselves earlier. It’s perfect for females because it encourages an utterly dependent and passive learning style. Dependent because you are confined to one person’s interpretation, passive because you sit there and watch someone else talk.
Men might be more inclined to go along if:
1. There was a clear financial gain or career goal accomplished.
2. More active professionals teaching helped break into respective areas of interest.
3. Didn’t have to deal with intellectual snobbery and elitism.
4. The curriculum wasn’t jam-packed full of requirements that have little or nothing to do with the intended major.
5. Colleges weren’t so heavily marketed as brands and provided more information on the professors who actually do the teaching and grading.
6. Modern society didn’t have a pervasive grudge against men.
7.They didn’t have to go into massive amounts of debt.

Boys and Education:
Single Sex Classrooms vs Coed, studies grouped and analyzed here;
- “Four year study from researcher at Cambridge University (2005)
“These researchers found that the single-sex classroom format was remarkably effective at boosting boys’ performance particularly in English and foreign languages, as well as improving girls’ performance in math and science.”
- Three year pilot project by researchers at Stetson University in Florida (2007?)
“Percentage of students scoring proficient on the FCAT
boys in coed classes: 37% scored proficient
girls in coed classes: 59% scored proficient
girls in single-sex classes: 75% scored proficient
boys in single-sex classes: 86% scored proficient.
…
Many of those boys who scored proficient in the all-boys classes had previously been labeled “ADHD” or “ESE” in coed classes.”
- England, July 2002: The National Foundation for Educational Research
“both girls and boys did significantly better in single-sex schools than in coed schools… the benefits were larger and more consistent across the board for girls than for boys.”
- A large Australian study, 2000:The Australian Council for Educational Research
“both boys and girls who were educated in single-sex classrooms scored on average 15 to 22 percentile ranks higher than did boys and girls in coeducational settings… Curiously, late in 2005 all trace of this study was purged from the ACER web site.”
- Educator Graham Able published a study of student performance in 30 coeducational and single-sex schools in England
“‘The most significant finding was that the advantage of single-sex schooling is even greater for boys in terms of academic results than for girls,’ Able said… One could reasonably conclude from this study that both boys and girls are academically disadvantaged in co-educational schools, but that the disadvantage is greater for the boys.”
Some interesting before and after studies:
“A University of Virginia study published in 2003 found that boys who attended single-sex schools were more than twice as likely to pursue interests in subjects such as art, music, drama, and foreign languages, compared to boys of comparable ability who attended coed schools.”
“Similar findings were reported by researchers at Cambridge University, who examined the effects of single-sex classrooms in schools in four different neighborhoods… For example, at Morley High School in Leeds, only one-third of boys had been earning passing grades in German and French prior to institution of the program. After the change to single-sex classes, 100% of boys earned passing grades. (2003)”

“Since IQ is connected to impulse control, it is therefore no surprise that there are more men in prison than women.”
This is purely false. Not only IQ does not have anything in common with impulse control. Admitted it is easy to define impulse control. For sure women have less impulse control, over the hypergamy, eating disorders, money management, responsability feelings towards offspring.
Usually little girls develop faster thay little boys, so it can be true they acquire sooner a verbal skill. Anyway after short time boys recover easily (in a neutral learning environment). I am not into biology so I can not give explanation, but it is easy think a girl should develop faster as possible so she is ready to reproduce. After she is fertile, any of her evolution is useless for the group survival while resource consuming.
The truth is, school environment is heavily biased towards females, so males can not have possibility to express, they have hard time developing communicative skills.
Of course, no feminist mentions math skills, where pratically women do not exist. Math skills are genetic, verbal skills are more social.

I made this argument on a previous article, though I would like to point out that the verbal exam contains sentence completion questions testing grammar and vocabulary. I am not sure they belong beside critical thinking/reading.
I’d say this has more to do with being less inhibited by morality than IQ. I am sure they feel shame, it is just that they seem to rationalize it away.

“But it still annoys me when it is suggested that women have better verbal skills than men, because they do not”
Here’s an article on a researcher which brings together alot on things on IQ and gender.
It Basically says That men’s IQ is 4 points higher than women’s on average. However girls develop before boys do which explains some of their better performance in school. That difference in development rate also masked males higher IQ because many of the past studies on gender and IQ were done to kids. Men even have larger brains after you factor out body size; brain size is known to be correlated to IQ.
Here’s an excerpt:
‘Although experts have accepted that men and women differ mentally, with males averaging higher on tests of ‘spatial ability’ and females higher on verbal tests, it was assumed the differences averaged out, leaving no difference in overall intelligence.’

“I was under the impression that girls are more intelligent than boys, but that men are more intelligent than women.
Isnt that the case? Girls mature faster but boys mature further?”
Yes, and in fact, this applies to all cases in which there is a difference in the ‘rate of maturation.’ In the field of biology, it’s common knowledge that, where there is a difference in the speed of development, there is also a corresponding difference in overall complexity. More complex organisms develop more gradually but achieve a higher ‘peak.’ This applies to humans just the same as it does to other kinds of organisms.
If anything, the differences are more pronounced than what can be taken from the SAT results, because men continue to develop well into their twenties, whereas women generally don’t develop much further than late teens. In other words, the men who outperformed the women on the SAT are probably significantly more intelligent than the results would suggest, because they will keep maturing for years after the test (17-18 year olds typically take the test).
Keep in mind, though, that there is also a qualitative difference in the ability profiles of men and women, not just a ‘quantitative difference’ in average IQ. The more a question requires analytical ability (which is what most taps into ‘g’ or underlying mental ability), the more the sexes divide in terms of ability. Analytical ability is completely independent of ‘verbal skills’ (which usually indicate nothing more than the presence of a glib tongue and low inhibition).
Analytical ability is what is really needed to solve the problems which arise in civilized life. And, sadly, it is precisely in this area that modern educational institutions place the least emphasis; the end result is that we have come to mistake ‘style’ for ‘substance.’ Is it any wonder why the vast majority of US university students lack an adequate understanding of grammar? Insisting on correct grammar is too taxing, too ‘rule-oriented’; it’s much easier to simply spout a bunch of nonsense which ‘sounds nice’ and makes the reader ‘feel good.’
Again, all style, no substance.

I’ll just add to what others have said in response to your comment …
After 30-40 years of feminist indoctrination, much of things that people see and read are taken as the “norm” today, which prior to that era would have been absolute biased nonsense. This is one of those instances. People such as yourself see nothing at all wrong in this video clip, not because there is nothing wrong, but because you have been desensitized by it. I find this occurs a lot today – especially with men.

I always thought that, for a boy, hell must be something like having a feminist for a mother. I really feel sorry for this kid, growing up knowing that his mother considers his maleness to be a sort of birth defect.
(By the way, I’m the father of a daughter whom I love dearly, but in spite of claims that have been made in this forum, that never for a minute inclined me toward feminism. On the contrary, it made me all the more hostile toward it, because in my profession I see too many young women whom feminism has taught to hate their fathers.)

That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. In fact, you don’t even have to go back that far to see how people have adjusted their minds from the contant media brainwashing to see that even 5 years ago most people would have laughed or thought you were crazy if you said homosexuals should be able to marry.
Child pornography used to mean an actual child involved in some sexual activity and it was illegal to make it but not illegal to posess it. Now, “child porn” can mean having a picture of your 20 yo gf who “appears” to be underage and it doesn’t even have to involve sexualy activity. It could be something as innocent as a picture of her at the beach in a bikini that some anal retentive prosecutor thinks is sexaully provocative. So now some non sexual pic of an adult female can be illegal lol Of course all of these new laws are instigated by older hags who just don’t like the idea of men being with young women and rejecting them. It’s pure jealousy and envy so they spite men by getting these crazy new laws passed.
Just to show you how much times have changed, all you have to do is see how people reacted to naked pics of Brooke Shields as a child 30 yrs ago. I can’t even remember these which just shows that there was no reaction. Anyone seeing them would just think it’s some naked pics of a kid and it would never cross their minds that grown men would find them sexually exciting. Sure, there were some sex perverts around but they were so rare that no one even worried about it and thought of them as mentally ill, not normal men. Today, even the most normal men are always under suspicion of being pedophiles.
The world has gone completely insane but I predict there will be a really big backlash soon.

That’s right but back in the 60′s the SAT scores were still higher for men than females. And this was a time when the men outnumbered the females at Universities so it was the smarter females AND the high IQ ones who were going on to college who took the SAT’s compared to a lot of average men and a small group of high IQ men. Logically the females should have scored higher considering the group they were taken from, but they didn’t. Not even on the language achievement tests. Even in people who did clerical work like typing etc the men were always faster.

On IQ vs education: at levels close to the mean iq, you’re not going to be able to attribute much from intelligence to academic achievement. At this level, the key factors are more likely to be the delivery method chosen (i.e. external factors linked to who does the teaching, what is taught, and how its taught) and the student’s ability to work hard (internal factors, but heavily influenced by family environment and the child’s ability to delay gratification).
Therefore, a difference in mean iq of 4 between the sexes isn’t really going to make itself felt against the overwhelmingly feminine teaching styles employed today.

Whats wrong with men having different opinions on a given matter? Jake is quite right about the video he linked to (I watched the first few minutes before the video started stuttering on me for some reason). I think a lot of the opinions in this thread were based on the 15 second clip we were shown in the original presentation she gave at TED; certainly my opinion was based on that.
The full video does seem to paint a different picture, and places this discussion into a bit more of a context.
Having said that, I disagree with Jake Turner’s assessment still; I think that the way the debate was framed by the family, along with various procedural biases (the sister for example went first, despite being – as has been pointed out here – older and therefore more mature and also more likely to have better impulse control; the mangina father-figure offering about as much grounding in the argument as an umbrella being blown inside out by strong winds; the smug harpy of a mother barely able to contain the contempt she has for mens’ achievements in tandem with a gift for seeing only the arguments that bolster her own position) all suggest that that young boy’s childhood is going to be a difficult one at best.
All that notwithstanding, since when did the mrm decide that the best way forward was to morph into some kind of anti-free-thought paradise that favours the ‘correct’ opinion over each individual having their own?
Sorry to be harsh Lovekraft, but I don’t think it does anyone any favours when you try to silence other voices in the conversation simply because they don’t agree with yours.

Let me paint you a picture: a person like Mr Price has likely had substantial hurdles to overcome in getting a fair shake. Massive bias in academia, lamestream media, the courts and everyday life against an MRA means we should be treated, and treat our fellows, with considerable respect.
In other words, feminists and their apologists are like rhinoceri who have duped society into thinking they are swans and I have no real patience for those who lump them in with vanguards like Price, Elam, Bardamu, Chapin etc.
For me, anything that comes from Mr Elam gets treated with great deference, simply because anyone who knows anything about our movement knows he has been on the front line pushing for our rights.
Long gone are the days when we need to treat feminism and their apologists with kid gloves. They made their bed and have to lie in it.
It is time to go on the offensive and not give any quarter when someone like Rosin’s views are defended.

“First and foremost, we must keep in mind what this interaction is. It is one of a 10 year old girl, gloating on an outrageous sense of superiority over boys, while her younger brother is forced to sit silently and listen.”
Yeah, I watched the video last night and I saw that too. I wouldn’t call that abuse (because I like to reserve that for extreme physical violence, as sensible folks should) but I would say that it is telling and that, in itself, it explains a lot about why males are falling behind.
Women who can’t see that must have moments of cognitive dissonance every time they talk about a society that favors men, and where males and females are socialized to behave in a certain way that affects them throughout their lives.
What we’re seeing is Hanna Rosin’s female supremacist version of “Shut your whore mouth while men are talking.”

“Since IQ is connected to impulse control, it is therefore no surprise that there are more men in prison than women.”
This is purely false. Not only IQ does not have anything in common with impulse control.
IQ is associated with longer time horizon. A longer time horizon is definitely connected with impulse control. People I know who work in prisons, or with prisoners, assure me that there are not a lot of MENSA members in there, and quite a lot of men who will do something really stupid and harmful on the spur of the moment.
I’m trying to make two points here. The first is that the wider variance in men’s IQ has a double edge; there are more men who are brilliant and even geniuses than there are women, and more men who are not very intelligent. Feminists compare themselves only to the top 5% of men, and that is another form of the dishonesty of feminism. Feminists complain about the fact that women in science, in medicine, in engineering are no where near 50% and pout that this is proof of discrimin-aaaay-shun, when the reality is that there just aren’t as many women smart enough to make it in those fields as there are men. The ongoing research via MRI and PET clearly show that women’s brains are physically different from men’s. This is what accounts for the difference in spatial visualization on average, to pick one example. Once again, women are not “men who can have babies”, men are not “inferior women”, no matter what the feminists chant and screech.
And there’s one more thing. Any society that is worth having ought to have some productive place for any honest man. Not every man is smart enough to go to college. So what? There ought to be plenty of honest work to go around, for men of all levels of intelligence, that can provide him with a living and some pride in whatever abilities he has.
It is our brothers who are, for whatever reason, less gifted in intelligence who often suffer the most from all these progressive schemes, especially the “men are the enemy” notions of feminism. We owe it to them to figure out some options for them, and let them find their own way.

1. non co-ed schools tend to be private schools, hence it may reflect a higher value being placed on education by those families. Thus the kids are pushed harder, work more, have private tutors.
2. The kids might come from higher intelligence genetic stock
3. private schools have performance standards which protect their brand value (fees) and cull students from yr 10 to yr 11. Ability to pay the fee wont cut it beyond that point. Which are the yrs used to performance rank those schools. IOW they only let the intelligent/hard workers thru.
Points 2 and 3 are just another way of saying ‘rubbish in-rubbish out.’
4. public schools are politicised along liberal lines, which devalues competition, another likely factor in running faster and further.
5. public schools tend to draw from lower socio-economic demographic, therefore less pressure (less value on education) and/or capacity to work harder (private tutors, educated parents who actively support their kids).
These factors may undermine or at least qualify the claim to superior performance outcomes of non co-ed, but not necessarily the difference b/w the sexes.

“The 200,000 period of men being top dog is coming to an end”
Really. We shall see. When men simply start hitting women back when they are irritating? It will be realised the ‘end of men’ will be revealed to be greatly over-rated. After all. Aren’t all those police-MEN who protect women also MEN? Hhmm…and what happens when THEY will no longer protect women? Hhhmmmm…..
By the way. I am 46. Soon to be 47. So far? No female has EVER competed with me in an area in which I have an interest. EVER.
So?? Women telling me how ‘good’ they are at ‘working’ is laughable to me.
“For some reason men just don’t go back to college”.
Um? Might have something to do with all the hatred sprewed at them when they DO turn up.

Anon. I decided to do that 2.5 years ago. I was successful. I have created the remedy. It’s just that men do not want to learn it and use it. It is now the problem for the INDIVIDUAL MAN to choose to use the remedy or not. Here is the draft of the book containing the remedy that works in Australia and I presume will work in all common law lands. Time to test it out more.

I see the chapter on ‘affidavit for lawful equality for a woman’ has hit 300+ views today, much due to putting that link into the spearhead. One key element the book proposes is that men do NOT interact with women who have not completed one of the two affidavits and lawfully notice they will hold their employer responsible for any harm, injury or loss if they are compelled to work with a woman who will NOT complete one of these two affidavits on the basis of Occupation Health and Safety Legislation.
We have the remedy. Men do not have the will to use it. That’s all. Well? Who’s problem is THAT?

“Modern mothers are training their sons for slavehood.”
Not just modern mothers. Every mother who ‘trained’ her boy to be a ‘good husband’ and ‘produce babies’ trained him for slavehood. My mother included.

@ Nolan: noble and laudable goals, and perhaps you are onto something. In my experience in the workplace, the depths to which feminists and manginas will stoop are mind-numbing: ratting out co-workers, playing the victim, exploiting male chivalry, and outright immaturity. But in my honest opinion, of the MANY battles I have fought with leftist/feminist/homosexualist moonbats, I never lost a single battle. Never did I surrender. And in fact I firmly believe I have established myself as a MRA to be reckoned with.
Canada is long on way to full-blown matriarchy (the Bill of Rights in 1980 giving birth to every victim/grievance group – every one except white males, for example), but with crippling national debt, crumbling infrastructure etc, the days of pandering to self-serving leftist utopianism is coming to an end. There will be an increase of ‘violence’ as the babies no longer have their soothers, but this is accepted as par for the course.

The father in the video is a disgrace to men and mankind as a whole. What a f***ing mangina! Imagine seeling out your son like that. My old man and I never really got along but at least he was a man and taught me to be proud to be one as well.

You will find a lawful notice for an employer. You see, a man working in a business today is working in an environment where he can suffer severe injury, harm or loss based on the crime of a woman who will NOT be held accountable for her crime. We ALL know this.
Well? Does THAT contravene the ‘Occupational Health and Safety’ act of almost ALL western countries? Yes. It does. Therefore, I would encourage ALL men to complete a similar lawful notice and serve it on their employer and make HIM know that HE will be held accountable for any injury, harm or loss suffered by any crime committed against YOU by any of HIS female employees. I am fine. I work in a male only association. I recommend as man men as possible do this.
And as I write? Still NOT ONE WOMAN has completed the ‘bonded affidavit of lawful equality to a man’ to my knowledge. I am proving over and over again that the vast majority of western women are liars and hypocrites. I could do with some help. But no. Most men have their head too far up their arses to even do that little bit to assist men like me take that message into the mainstream. Whimps.

@Peter: if there was a study of the growth of the MRM, it would put our enemies in grave worry, so we are definitely gaining ground. The next stage will hopefully synthesize our demands into a viable action plan, and in the meantime, you, myself and other vanguards will continue to lay the foundation.

Her feminist supremacist gloating as she highlights all the areas where women now outnumber men made me wonder … I thought the alleged goal of feminism is “equality”. But here it is clear – when women outnumber men and benefit more than men it is something to be proud of and show off about with pathetic jokes … if men outperform women or earn more then it’s just a monstrous sign of the oppression of women and must be legislated against and feminized to use “positive” discrimination and blatantly biased treatment to favour women until their numbers equal and then pass men.
Listening to that deluded child gloat as she copied the same delusions as her mother while her brother was prevented from even contradicting her – I’m not surprised that “feminazi” has become a popular term. Feminists are using the same ridiculous warped presentation of “data” and “statistics” to state fallacies. For example, girls are not performing better in schools than boys because they are better, girls are doing better because the system is designed to allow them to do so. Boys are punished for not behaving as if they were girls. And despite all the efforts of programs and blatant favouritism of female students boys still surpass girls in the following areas: maths, science and computing.

I think it’s worthy of note that although these men hating kind of women are not entirely Jewish, they do seem to disproportionately be so. I think it’s reasonable to suggest that the roots of this ideology can be found somewhere within Jewish culture. By leaving this observation out of the discussion and not identifying it we might be missing a major factor behind feminism and thus preventing ourselves from ever coming full circle in countering the problem effectively.
