Steve, that’s a beautiful dog in the Facebook picture.
Is he yours?

It’s actually a wolf from a preserve in Montana, that has since shut down from lack of funding. On top of the FRA thing, I’m big into wolf protection. When I first started getting involved online with MRA issues, I used to post under the name Wolfboy69. Since I started as a part of the False Rape Society, I started going by my name.
I’m just a wolf lover. Maybe it’s my Native American heritage coming through, but I’ve always seen them as seriously misunderstood, and treated horrendously.
How’s that for a tie in?

Sorry, that should read:

I love wolves, too. I respect them much more than the typical dog. In fact, I call my daughter my “little wolf pup.” It’s a totem/clan thing (Scandinavian).
However, I’m not so sure about them in the city. Once, when I was jogging in the park, a Tlingit woman’s wolf-dog jumped at me out of the bushes. Man, was I mad about that! This huge wolf really had no business in a park in the middle of Seattle. But I really love the animals. So much more noble than the stunted dogs people lead around.

I’m from the Spokane Indian Tribe (Nez Perce). Grew up in the Spokane area.
I’ve actually had the chance to go out with a photographer who does wolf shots, in their habitat. They are incredible animals. But they aren’t pets.

Ah, Nez Perce. I like the Colville Rez out on SR-20, isn’t that Nez Perce too? Beautiful country out there. Too bad there’s nothing to do there — I’d move if there were.
No, wolves are not pets. I gave that lady a piece of my mind. She didn’t even have her wolf on a leash, fer chrissake. Alaskans….

They are. While I’m not even remotely full blooded, my grandfather used to take me out to the reservation every summer in high school and we’d head out to the middle of nowhere and hunt and fish and just live off the land for a couple of months. Great times. He, more than anyone, taught me everything I know about being a man, respect for nature and animals, and survival.
