In my experience, these couples tend to beat each other up on a regular basis. It's just the way they operate because they're incapable of, or unwilling to, deal with each other like sane human beings. And if one of them isn't physically aggressive, then they scream around hysterically, or they're passive aggressive. Some of them really get off on their mutual antisocial behavior. I know a few couples like this personally (relatives) and they drive me absolutely batty. It's always funny when they divorce and then remarry because they do the same stuff with their next spouse. Although there are occasional innocents who deserve our help and assistance, sane people generally marry sane people and nutsos marry nutsos. That's another reason to forbid divorce: keep the nutsos together and out of the dating market.
